I don't really know whats going on, but it the last few days its like everyone completely forgot how to play this game. Its always been goofy in potato land, but at least the masses had the capability of murderballing up and going in the right direction relatively cohesively.

Now people make the worst choices and take strange routes, split up in groups of like 3-4 and generally do stuff that will obviously get them killed.

I find myself going f*ck it and just ending the round. Yea its a whiny thread, but usually when I get bored of MWO its the game, now I wanna play, but the players are just dumb. In T1 at least we should know how to team up and move to the right place.

What the hell happened? Its never been this bad.

Yeah it's event season, school holidays in the southern hemisphere, and a weekend.

Just be patient in matches and farm what you need for events.

Yeah, could be players trying to get those scouting and/or nav detection challenges done. Solo kill challenges can encourage bad decisions too.

Good hunting,

That is probably the only one I wont be able to complete. I think I've gotten 4 head shots in the 2 years I have played, maybe only 3 head shots. I know one was an Atlas and the other two were King Crabs. I got lucky with those.

Try taking out something with like 4 snubnose ppc. They do splash damage and if you get lucky you can kill some of those people that like to strip armor from their heads...

Yeah. I've already said it. I had that misconception, that lower rating would have meant being the smartest guy among other 23. But it's not truth. If your team doesn't know how to use map and doesn't even see, where enemies are, while enemies have some brains - you just can't do anything about it. For now this game just doesn't have middle ground between pro players in Tier 3, who just roflstomp you and complete noobs in Tier 4, who don't even know, how to play this game. Problem is - complete noobs are always in your team.

I've been tilting at windmills about this for years with some of the more competitive minded folks who refuse to understand or just can't grasp that there really is a contingent of people that play this game, who don't care a whit about "gitting gud" or even winning. Sometimes we can over come our provocative incompetence to not be too much of a hindrance to our team and help the collective effort toward winning. More often than not however, we just don't care and are going to do our own thing, because the game allows us to do our own thing. Occasionally that works out and we still win, but more often it doesn't and we don't, and yes, that often results in others on our team getting a wee upset. Whatever. After 9 years or however long we've been playing this way, we're not about to change, and events like the ones going on right now just entice us to do even dumber stuff than what we might usually do.

People need to pilot more ravens. The few headshots I have had, most have been with ravens, JUST as they are peaking over the lip to check things out. Still shocks me when it happens.

Somehow I got it and I have no idea how, lucky shot maybe.

events bring out all irregular players out of the woodwork. especially the lootbag events. players who do not play the game every day tend to play poorly, and since they are after loot, selfishly. which of course makes it take longer for everyone including themselves. just play normal!

Take a fast light or medium mechs, circle around the edge of the map to the enemy drop zone and hunt disconnected/AFK opponents. It's dirty but it works.
Just remember that on disconnects the hitboxes are slightly lower than the model shows, so adjust your aim accordingly (or dial in with MGs/XPLs)
This build will work wonders for that purpose - it's one of the fastest chassis out there at 153.9 KPH before tweak (only Commandos go faster), with jump jets and a decent amount of hardpoints for DPS spam: https://mwo.nav-alph...87574721_OSR-3D . Obviously add Speed Tweak to go faster, everything else is more or less optional.

Snubs don't splash to head. If you want to damage the head, you need to hit the head

Yep - events, lootbags, end of the year right after Comp. Happens every time. Don’t sweat it.

3 HPPC is the skill choice here, learn the hitboxes too

Alternative options are dual heavy gauss (slightly more difficult due to charge mechanic, slightly easier because better projectile velocity) and/or using flamers (dezgra, but a shutdown mech is a heck of a lot easy to bonk on the noggin than one that moves and shoots back)

Why would anyone learn hitboxes when the nerf herders keep changing hitboxes on mechs?

How brave of you, to admit throwing on purpose. Totally not against CoC or anything.

Pros in tier 3? Surely you meant T1-3 bracket, which gives you a chance of meeting with some of the very few good players this game has in T1. SInce T3 gets to play with all kinds of players, from T5 to T1. You still have a higher chance of ending in 2-4 or 3-5 lobby, rather than 1-3.
At least you are somewhat right on the noobs part, since good T1 players are a very small minority.

Care to cite when any cockpit hitbox was changed in recent years?
Making no sense here, just like with the snub comment.
