Ditching any of the maps are a bad idea imo...sure they coud use a touch up from time to time, but why completely do away with them?...it takes a lot of time to code a workable map, taking em out dosen't make sense to me....not like we got a ton of em to choose from anyhow.

I have never understood why they removed the original Polar Highlands map and the Terra Therma map with two levels. Or the second version of the Caustic Valley map.

I would say that it is better to have more maps to choose from.

Let the players decide what map they would like to play on. This is what the voting system is for.

I don't play long range builds often, though I did using 2 ER PPCs during snub-pocalypse (tbh I didn't think they were overtuned) just to stick it to all the urbies. What I play is usually a reflection of what I think will best work against the prevailing nature of players in soup queue. For the last little bit that's been mid or close range Lights. They have the speed to deal with unexpected team positioning, and to +1 to any fight. My longest range build right now is the LPPC ECM Spider in EQ, because anything will work there.

This doesn't particularly explain your investment in that particular topic.

There is no US in the voting system.  This is why I like dragging people like you into maps you loathe.  You want to chain HPG? I'll put you in Hellebore as many times as I can manage.

I have got no idea what you are talking about. I have not mentioned the HPG in this thread - not even once - and the only thing that I have said about the Hellebore Outpost map is that a half of this map is usually unused.

But all right: If you would like to play on the Hellebore Outpost map, I have no problem with it.

What a strange way of spending your time.

Yeah Hellebore is good fun, I do enjoy it. The way the match develops into the other areas like the centre structure or edges once a few players are down makes it interesting.

I have to sit there and play the silly vote game as much as anyone else, might as well derive a little spiteful pleasure from it.

I mostly save mine up by voting against maps I don't want to play on, since there's relatively few of those. I tend to only vote against Caustic, Hibernal and any/all of the Forest Colonies.

The original Forest Colonies are too small. The reworked Forest Colony is good, but due to the static objectives the large parts of the map usually go unused.

To be fair, in coordinated environments, brawl rushes is typically what lesser teams opt for against better teams. However PUGs aren't coordinated and even in dedicated brawls like 4/4/0/0 in the old school MRBC drops, understanding how to brawl was something few knew how to do (there is a difference between knowing how to push and how to brawl, different concepts).

Well the original statment, which i was contradicting was: ''brawling is 'brain dead'' and ''doesnt require any skill''

And that is simply just so delusional, biased and wrong. But yeah, coordinated 8-12 man snipers/medium voms win more than brawl 8-12 man rushes. Coordinated team going pure brawl rush, that is brain dead. Never worked against long range comps afaicr.

But you can always see brawling skirmisher lights and mediums being used in mixed comps within top teams.

What is a brawling skirmisher Light when it's at home?

I mean it can if you miss a scout, I just had a flashback to the 2016 WC thinking about this. That said, the chances of winning end up about the same because generally lesser teams also are afraid to commit and instead get whittled down until their push is just a bunch of crippled mechs limping towards the enemy.
