The stock loadout doesn't have a huge purpose over a dire or stone rhino. But what's really going to be interesting is when you start swapping omnipods. Remember, the EXE has *big* quirks on its pods. Its going to do some very unique loadouts. If it's mounts weren't so low, it'd be too strong.

But... It's an EXE-B . Even if not in game as a battlemech, there's no other EXE-Bs to swap pods with.

It can. There's already pics on the Cauldron server with mixed pod loadouts.

10ML VTR... Wtf? This mech has only 2 "able-to-be-good" loadouts - ML+MRM40 or ML-TAG-LRM20, other way it's just lazerboat, and not good one...

It's a lore variant. Laserfist seems good though.

EXE B is an omnimech to begin with. But yeah It's linked with the other Executioners it seems.

Nerf more weapons pls and we wont play this game, because we will only use 2-3 weapons. Useless weapons are LRM and Streak SRM.

Nerf machine guns, binary laser.

Nerf light mechs. Make them bigger.

I really like seeing more functionality for Artemis. In the future it would be nice to see it have a greater impact on SRMs than just the spread mechanic, which imo is really only worthwhile with the 6 size launchers. Giving Artemis some sort of bonus (be it a velocity and/or range and/or cool down boost/modifier, etc.) so it would be something worth taking (sacrificing a ton and a crit space) with 4s or even 2s would be interesting.

The heat changes to MPL are seriously welcome. I've felt for a long time that MPLs and particularly most MPL boating builds have felt somewhat anemic and not much fun to play. This ought to help alleviate that in a pretty big way.

More LRM velocity nerfs... again?

"A bit of velo is a small sacrifice to be able to keep locks better" - Speak for yourself, this was clearly done to appease the cauldrons FRAGILITY in regards to LRM velocity

You seriously need to get the comp players away from anything regarding balance in this game.

LRM nerfs and buff HAG again, this time adding splash and that's just what Askum needed, two more open slots, sure, why not.

Cauldron is completely off the rails.

This is most certainly a HAG nerf, you're not able to deal as much damage to a single location and you need to hit wither CT or ST to deal damage equal to what it is now. I do like the shortening of the burst intervals, HAG40s felt a little sub-par for the tonnage because of the long burst and it's good to see that changed.
Think of this as pseudo spread, I personally think HAGs should have spread to better reflect their role in lore, but having splash emulates spread without having random luck be a deciding factor whether or not you actually hit.

This change to LRM's seems to be attacking a perceived problem from the wrong end.

Consider - to get back your lost velocity you have to invest 1 ton per launcher, whether it's a 5, 10, 15, or 20.
So, if you have a high hardpoint build with LRM 5's (aka a "fun" build), you are penalized far more than with an assault mech running 3 x LRM 20.
Usually the LRM 5 builds tend to be mediums and heavies, occasionally lights.
The real LRM cancer these days is Clan assault mechs running 6x LRM 20, so what, they can drop to LRM 15's with artemis, and the reduced missile count is balanced by the tighter grouping.

It has the effect of nerfing a s***ton of builds which weren't overpowered to begin with, yet again reducing options for the majority of players who have no interest in the overserious comp playstyle.

This kind of change is how a game dies by a thousand cuts.

You want to reduce LRM abuse? Embrace some lore for a change and remove indirect fire from Clan launchers altogether. Half tonnage per launcher more than compensates.

As a side note, I'm in favor of separating IS launchers into 2 types - direct and indirect. the mechanic which switches firing profiles is flawed in a lot of situations. It's nice to know what your weapon is going to do when you fire it.

Just a small question- what is the UNIQUE QUIRK for the EXE-B ? I don't get it, can someone explain? A (LDG) mech should have a unique quirk - did this change?

So the EXE-B has a smaller engine and no MASC. It's unique in that it is the first omnimech that downgrades the engine on one of its variants, giving you more pod space for weapons.

Cauldron is completely off the rails.

Thats 20% nerf to pinpoint damage on all HAGs. Small duration decrease doesnt turn it into a buff.

It started with unique quirks and changed to make mechs unique in other ways. This is the first Executioner without MASC and much more weight and space for weapons.

as for the lrm nerf idc as i don't run them but u guys made artemis a useless thing in a way for them because now all it dose for lrms is resets them back to default. PS WERE IS THE EVENT Q

Not a fan of the LRM change. But I will test the heck out of it. I'll run 100 games in the same LRM mech that I am intimately familiar with and take data on my average scores and performance. Then I will provide the information to the community and be told in no uncertain terms that the data I gathered is meaningless and that I do not know what I'm doing.

It's a process. Posted Image

If you feel being able to deal damage to components you cannot see if a nerf, that's on you I suppose.
I have heard Cauldrons bemoan that lower tiers can't be bothered to twist, so now, even if you do, damaged locations you are trying to protect get hit. Sorry, sounds like a buff to me.

Lol what is this stock build? The legendary mechs have so far been pretty well optimized in terms of stock builds so the standard heat sinks, standard engine, and empty slots have me confused.

Cuz its lore mech build:
"VTR-9B Victor Li
The custom Victor used by Tai-sho Li Dok To in the Fourth Succession War, this variant removed all the standard weapons and replaced them with a single LRM-15 mounted in the left torso and ten medium lasers carried in the 'Mech's right arm. Armor and movement profiles remained unchanged, but it carried a total of nineteen heat sinks."
