Just asking for a friend.

Oh there's no question here. Just saying.
And what's with the attempt at iambic pentameter? Watching some back episodes of Thug Notes?
I have always written

on this forum.
The tears I used to get
were both delicious and fun.

Right, but this is "the game engine can no longer figure out how to get the missile from the firer to the target" kind of stuff. That doesn't... concern... anyone?
Speaking as a guy who can write code... I'm guessing the angle change at the 0,0 point has a LOT more to do with each of the other angles in the trajectory and that changing it affects all the other numbers down the line of the whole shebang.
They had to have tested it to put up the "missiles might not work at all now" disclaimer, but this wasn't a deal breaker???

This game is over a decade old.
Legacy code creates its own issues.
My guess is QA had intermittent results.
This might have lead to the disclaimer.

Hey at least now when they fly in the wrong direction they'll do so even more slowly!
Not that a velocity nerf actually means much really because LRMs are already so awful in anything other than a bajillion tubes + a NARCer configuration that AMS is largely non-existent, and anybody who'd be in cover from direct fire weapons would be in cover from LRMs long before the LRMs could possibly arrive anyway.
And if you're NARCed it doesn't really matter how slow the incoming missiles are, since the other guy no longer needs to have anything maintain LOS locks. The flatter trajectory probably helps with that issue but the velocity? That hurts and has hurt only people who actually try to play LRMs non-degenerately.
So, you know, great work, gj, dust your hands off everyone. At least HAGs were made stronger!

Something else is going on.
I'm 100% sure everything is going to fine, simply based on the fact that live servers run in a certain set of conditions that makes the chances of that bug happening 0%.
imo that statement is just covering their base... just in case.

Sure, but I'm thinking that if the changes to HAGs meant that the weapon didn't fire where you were aiming and instead fired in a completely different direction... they would pull the change and address the issue. But instead its happening to lock on missiles? Nothing to see here, we're fine, move along.

I hope you're right. Still gonna test the heck out of it though.

I already know what causes it and know how to reproduce it 100%.
That's why I say it can't happen on live servers.
And there is a good chance the QA team was running this on local server that has a small but important difference with live servers.

* The one they sold on missiles right before the universal nerf. Sucks to be some one who bought the not-long-bow.

Is the bug in question the same one that shows up in the testing grounds- where LRMs sometimes fly backwards?
I've never seen it happen in a game.

This game was a riot way back when.
The builds were amazing!
Heatsinks were not a thing.
SRM or SSRM2 catapults were meta.
Even after beta the builds were awesome.
I miss my 6 x PPC stalker...
All the bugs have been seen before.
They will be seen again.
Fun can still be had though...
