Your best opportunity to get an Ace of Spades is when you find yourself on a team that did a lot of damage but only killed a few of the red team, then you mop up. This doesn't happen often, but works best in a high alpha build, because face time builds take more return fire. And its not necessarily a sniper build, just stay reasonably healthy to the end of the match and press R so you know where they're wounded.

First Ace was an Atlas K3, dual LGauss dual ERPPCs. Was an absolute blast.

ppc and srm supernova bracket build here. the build itself is nothing special, it doesn't even have a good rating, what won it for me is getting stuck with 2 lethargic teams stuck in a stalemate. was up to 6 kills before my team even started its push, and they were slow about it and i bagged 3 more in the mean time. i had a couple early match kills, and normally it would snowball from there, but for some reason it didn't. of course i was in a state of what i could call utter heat management zen. i swear i was subconsciously counting pixels in my heat bar.

i think i did get 8 kills a second time, but it was such dumb luck and i didnt even know i got 8 until the score screen, and i didnt remember the particulars of the match.

I got 7 and someone stole my 8th, I was using a stalker with ecm and 6LPL, we were both burning lasers on target at the same time and my team mate got credit (target died in between my pulses?).

I witnessed an ace once while observing, he had a roughneck, 3LPL 3ERML.

All the years I've played, that's all I can vouch for, but I've seen several johnny fives, and gotten a handful myself.

It's a rare alignment of the stars that leads to games like that.
