I did not see an announcement for those two new mechs on the main page, it is only on steam so far.
Difficult to say whether they are interesting without info about quirks but I am not really impressed as of now.
Seems like the last great legend was the Exe Sovereign (especially with the extra arm pods and the lbx quirks)

editing this: behemoth is apparently NOT a stone rhino, even though it is certainly looks like one to me

Huh, may be a Steam only thing, or someone's jumped the gun, or asleep.

Someone's asleep at the wheel. June 18th release date for both.

Did we need a second Stone Rhino legendary?

This is the unique IS version of the Clan chassis, just like the Clan got their unique version of IS Annihilator.

Much depends on its quirks. JM6-DD JagerMech has similar set of hardpoints and it is available for C-Bills.

If we add the Hero 'Mech "Koloss", it is going to be the third special Stone Rhino.

Other than that, obviously PGI thinks that heavy and especially assault 'Mechs sell well enough.

I would prefer some good light or medium 'Mechs.

I prefer the look of the Catapult over the Uglymech. XD

And I wouldn't mind more med/light Legendaries.

You won't be able to do Jaggermech-DD builds on the Catapult, tonnage is taken by the built in mask+supercharger. Which is the selling point of the mech: gotta go fast.

While true, the other issue is that because of build constraints, lights are harder to distinguish from each other with just fewer actual viable build options. That said, legends are just milking a dead game so they are only ever going to do what sells well so clearly what sells are slow gun boats. We will probably see more medium variants for loyalties.

IS version of the Stone Rhino.
But it needs good quirks to remain competitive with Bullshark.

Looks like an overgrown Bullshark.

I wants it ;)

Even though this Catapult has some survivability quirks, I wonder how big its long-term viability will be in the game filled with assault 'Mechs with their massive alphas.

The only Legendary light 'Mechs were that pair of UrbanMechs IIC. As for Legendary medium 'Mechs, the situation has not been much better.

I wonder what the engine cap of this 'Mech will be.

It all depends on the circumstances, honestly. I do alright in other 'arm only' mechs, just have to be paying attention.

Catapult has nice speed, but needs JJs.

Catapult will go ~163kph with the combo MASC/SC and speed tweak. It is one of the smallest heavy mechs, has good hitboxes, and with arm weapons an insanely good top peak profile. It does not need JJ.

FWIW the Behemoth may be a bit undercooked but we can always adjust/buff it as needed.

It has not been revealed yet, at least, the Steam page for it only reveals some beauty shots of the mech and the loadout that I posted above.

pretty much what was said... everything revealed or mentioned so far can be divined by analyzing the pictures. Patch notes tomorrow should have full details.

always great to have a new cat! it could have really used like 1 energy in the ct for a backup weap since everything is arms. cat arms are targeted like hunchy roght torsos.

How does the super charger work, does it just add top end speed or does it need to be activated?
