They look interesting. I am curious though to see how mechs flying in straight lines above terrain fair against thunderbolts in particular.

haven't tried the Apache yet, but the Spectre needs more lift speed. Can't use the jump system to get over walls, and can't turn in the air. Gonna take some smarts to make it useful. flying at ground level, well, thats not really flying is it? LOL

Yeah got to take off from higher ground, I'm starting to figure it out, initial vertical thrust should be higher though.

The Apache (and I assume the Spectre as well but I can't say for sure since I didn't buy that one) seriously, seriously needs vertical lift boost. At the moment, the mech just floats along the ground. That's not exactly a good trade-off for the highly limited mobility, is it?

Edit :- Almost forgot. The Apache's quirks are limited to RACs. Consider adding some universal ballistic quirks also, as well as LBX spread reduction. Missile Ammo quirks could be useful if not for Ammo quirks for both weapon systems.

There is a problem with the jj lift. Sometimes the mechs flot along the ground sometimens they sore up into the air. Pls fix. And the champion is to squishy for a staredown mech!!!

What a unique idea!

I'll be saving up MC to buy the Spectre in a few months.

I'm sure by then the mechanics will be tuned properly. Posted Image

At least they have ECM, so they aren't complete "sitting ducks" Posted Image

They nothing wrong with the mech, thats all what they can do.
Champion has five jumpjet, how many se you in the description? Only two, so this mech cant jump, only fly in straight line.
So when you start youre glide from higher points you can soar in the sky otherwise just float on the ground.
Again PGI make his own flying mechanics , not what we wanted.
I dont know why they are scared to give us real partial winged jump capable mech?
Thats true that these type mechs very good spoters, but they very underguned.
For example see the https://www.sarna.ne...ki/Jade_Phoenix , 85 tons assault mech, only has 2 Erppc and 1 lone Hag30
Why? Because has 4 jumpjets , this 2x4 tons: 8 tons, plus the partial wing system, another 4,5 tons.
I can do this build on any heavy clan mech or better one.

(In standard atmosphere, the Partial Wing adds +2 Jump MP (for Light and Medium) or +1 Jump MP (for Heavy and Assault), and an additional 3 heat dissipated per turn.
The weight of the system (Clan Techbase) is 5% of the 'Mech's weight (7% for Inner Sphere, 20% for ProtoMechs)[3] and rounded up to the nearest 0.5 ton. It occupies three critical spaces in each side torso for BattleMechs, and one weapon slot in the torso for ProtoMechs) for those who is interested how can you calculate the weight the partial wing system.

The Spectre is super fun, thanks for adding something very different.
negative is the lack of builds, but as an experiment its awesome.

Anyone having problems getting these mechs in the air
Think of them a bit like planes, but you need to take off from an upwards slope, running along the edge of a mountain and and holding jump will give you lift.
But flying high is not what you want to be doing anyway, skip between cover not above it. Use the sudden drop by letting go of jump to easiliy hide.
Theres a lot of mechs with great jump jets, these are different.

Chasing lights from above is also hilarious

Apache champion cant really support assaults because its wing span is too wide and it seems I always end up with one of my RACs brushing their rear armor unless I completely expose myself. I currently can't really figure out a viable strategy with it compared to other 2RAC5 mechs.
theoretically you have ECM and can shoot at a single mechs cockpit to blind them and then not be seen, but that rarely happens in higher tiers. and the wide distance between the 2 ballistic hardpoints just spreads the damage too much at close range even though it has 25% ROF.

No one said these would give you an advantage, just a new addition to the game for fun.
