Are the launch of MW5: Clans and the regular MWO crashes somehow connected?
You know, I came to play today after a long break. Everything is the same: there is no balance, open maps for long-range builds, long-range meta, groups are still here on open maps in a long-range meta (hello, balance). And also disconnects in every match.

At this point they should add some realistic collision damage and knockdowns back, or at least knockbacks, since lights are buffed so much they take more damage than assaults in certain situations. A light mech should not be able to sit up against your legs and shoot you with impunity while you are walking towards it. If you are 70 to 80 tons heavier light mechs should at least be pushed back to you can fire at them. Taking advantage of a flawed game mechanic is not skill.

It will get generous armor and structure bonuses after enough feedback.

On which Bane? Because max looks to be 9 LBX2s and only on the BANE-1(S) as RT can not equip any.
Maybe he means that you can use 10 with standard engine

It is a second line Clan Mech, so no RACs. You can boat HAGS, but you somehow get ghost heat from them and they are not as OP as RACs. You will be able to downgrade the engine though, so you will have more tonnage to work with.

Neg, there is a variant, the Bane 5, that carries a pair of two RAC/2s in each arm, a pair of LRM 10s in the torsos (one in each), and a ER Large Laser in the right torso. I did ask, and begged, to no avail, but we will not be getting Rotary Autocannons. Not now. Not ever! Do not ask. It is a dead issue.

I would love to get knockdown in the game. collision damage too. I didn't get a chance to play the game before either of those were removed.
I'm totally in favour of melee too. especially since we have the hatchet-man. Although im mw5 and here, i wish they'd include other types of melee, like kicking and shoving. It could really freshen up the game, and give the hatchet man a second wind, its become a rarity on the field.

I know there were some issues with the physics for knockdowns and fast heavies like the Dragon were able to charge and one-shot light mechs by ramming them. At the time I believe they said it was a game engine issue, same with Inverse Kinetics (makes your mech's feet actually touch the ground, not just hover over it). Apparently they do not have these issues with Unreal 4 or 5, so I guess we can only hope that we get MWO2 on Unreal 4 or 5 some day. Also, I am not sure what the MECHWARRIOR license status is these days, I believe they mentioned it was extended for 5 years or so around the release of MW5 Mercs.

There is no flawed mechanic, a light mech can run fast but it doesn't have as much armor. They definitely do not tank more damage than an assault and if they are standing still behind you that means their back is open to your team and they can die in 1 alpha from pretty much anything.

They have quirks that make them stronger than they should be. Go on the test maps, the stock lights standing still take more shots to kill than the other mechs due to overlapping hitboxes, over-generous quirks and hit registration issues. Combine that with machine guns that can strip 90 points of armor off in seconds.
