After the last patch, the Scattershot (VPR-SCS) seems to have something wrong with its weapons; sometimes it either does 0 damage to others or does 100% damage to itself. It doesn't always happen, but often enough to notice something is off....

Sometimes missile shots do 0 damage. At first I thought it was just lag. But in a skirmish map a few days ago, I stood directly behind an AFK mech and shot him in the back. I saw/heard my weapons fire, and my ammo ticked down, but the stationary AFK target had 0 damage; not even light yellow armor; it was still blue untouched armor.

At other times, firing the weapons resulted in my core components exploding but leaving my armor intact. Most of the time its a side torso that explodes (where my weapons are located). But in one case, the very first time I fired in a skirmish map, my center core instantly exploded, causing instant death. Again, my armor was still intact, meaning the damage came from inside, yet I had 0 heat, ruling out overheating or being shot from the outside.

I'm wonding if something is wrong with the way missiles leave the Scattershot's geometry, causing the missiles to actually never leave and/or hit itself, causing self internal damage. I've never seen anything like this before; I've been using the Scattershot for a long time now, and this is something that just started after the last patch, or so it would seem.

Thoughts?

And for the CT slot, was ammo stored there? The default Scattershot setup only has 2pts of CT rear armor points. Remove those two points then crit on the ammo, boom. Case protection only prevents any ammo explosion from spreading to other sections.

As for the AFK mech, was it actually AFK or a D/C, i.e. no ping or 0 ping?

No video; I don't record/stream stuff. So pics or it didn't happen I guess.

No ammo in the center core; just 1 ton in each side torso (with 7pts armor each side) and 1/2 ton ammo in the head.

Dunno of the AFK mech had 0 ping, which I would assume means disconnected... but both AFK and disconnected mech should still take damage I thought.

For D/C mechs, they do take damage but their hitboxes are shifted from the visual location on the map, they are not synced up, .thus depending on the location you are aiming for, you could technically miss the hitboxes.

VPR-SCS is Scaleshot. Scattershot is SHD-S. which mech do you mean?

I mean Scaleshot. Typo.

Anyway I changed VPNs and haven't seen the issue since... so maybe it was a wierd packet loss thing happening.

And now that I mention it, i was also seeing rubber banding frequently, which has also gone away, so it might be related somehow.
