Patch Files (Direct Download)

To make the patching process easier for players with limited download caps, we'll be providing direct download links for the patch file(s) that comprise this patch. This will allow you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, for manual injection into the MWO patcher through a Patch Cache folder.

Aside from allowing you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, on another connection, there are no additional benefits to performing the patch this way; the patching process itself will be the same.

This direct patch download process will only work for players running the standalone client. It does not apply to players running MWO through Steam.

  • Download the above file(s)
  • For sake of ease, we recommend creating a dedicated folder for the patch file(s), such as 'MWO Patch Cache'
  • You do not need to unzip or unpack the patch file(s)
  • Launch the MWO Portal
  • Select the three horizontal lines in the top left of the Portal Window
  • Choose the 'Specify Patch File Cache' option
  • In the field that appears, paste or enter the location in which you saved the patch file(s) and hit OK
  • For example, C:\Users\<username>\Documents\MWO Patch Cache
  • Click the blue Patch button
  • The launcher will now check the Patch Cache folder you defined. If it locates the required patch files, it will unpack and use those files to apply the patch
  • Once the patch is complete, launch the game

Wasn't the running joke about all new mechs something about "just add ECM and JJ"?

I look forward to the salt about the 2 snub + 6 magshot wolverine though.

Fun fact, the 5MOC is a canonical variant. Cry or not, I'm always happy to see stuff like that. The wolverine also looks fun.

Do you plan to publish MechWarrior 5: Clan on GOG.com?

Publishing MW5: Clans on GOG.com could boost the sales of this game.

You could just say GOG. Saying it like GOG.com seems very odd

Nah, I say gog.com, too. It's the website's domain name - it's valid.

Those screenshots of the new map make it look like it has TWO NASCAR tracks instead of the standard "only one per map". Oh, boy! Posted Image

You nerf the Bain 6 and Stone Rihno and the Clan Bullshark. They are gigant mechs, wide and slow. And you buff the light mechs especially IS theat are making the game bad? They are Smal, fast and untargatable! You are not balancing, You are killing the game!!! Then nerf all IS ECM mechs to!!! And nerf IS light mechs, and all IS mechs theat are have heat and armor quirk!
I buy a mech pack and you nerf it!!! I will not by anything from this game, newer again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stone Rhino
SR-1:
Removed -5% heat
-5% Ballistic heat

SR-6:
LA, RA Armor bonus to +7 (from +13)

SR-AK:

Reduced LA, RA Armor bonus to +7 (from +13)

BANE-6:
Removed -10% Ballistic heat

What the hell again ??? Clan nerfs again ?
You guys just nerfed the Stone Rhinos last month and you nerf them again and the Bane 6 too, what me and many guys just purchased now?
How you think that i and many of us will buy anything after this?

The clans already 3 times weaker because you guys nerfed the clan weapons, the clan skilltree and usualy have **** quirks too.
I thank you guys the many machinegun or srm(only srm, not lrm or atm)on heavy energy weapon based chasis as the Warhammer2C ,Marauder2C Scorch,Timberwolf prime and many more.
Nerf the super popular Fafnir 5 , 100 tonns assaults with ECM,-10% heat,-10%laser cooldown and -10% heat for energy weapons that he can play with the stock loadut with only 10 heatsinks
Nerf the Fafnir 5B too, has ECM and still has his -10% heatquirk and the very high armorquirks, that he can use quadsnubnose and two AC20 cannon build with only 12 heatsinks with left /right2 snub+ac20 combo.
You are very hipocritical that the Bane 6 overperforming just because has ECMand only -10% heat quirk compared these overquirked and overbuffed IS mechs.

Plus give the Banes , all variants centertorso armorquirk, because this horrible mech dies many more times from his centertorso loss, not from his sidetorso loss.
I know that you guys at Piranha not that stupid that you dont know that this glascannon thing was extremly bad idea.
You just simple hate those players who play clan mechs ? Than why put a clan mechs in the game?

Lol please, how often do you run light mechs?
Us light mech pilots would also like to have fun in the computer game with a fraction of the tonnage.
Or should we run about, twice the size, but same armour and with only a medium laser and a machingun as weapons

pgi, A serious question, why don't they delete it and give the money back? Seriously, they nerfed it so much that the only thing left of its legend is its name...

I strongly disagree with this change and nerfings:

FLE-19: no need to change a solid mech or to nerf it so much.
JR7-A: On of my favorites mechs, it doesn't need a any change.
CGR-1A1.

Stone Rhino: It was already nerfed in the last patch.

As someone who preordered, and loves his Stone Rhinos, I have to say these nerfs were probably warranted. Yes, the Rhino is Slow, but it also has a bazillion hardpoints and decent hit boxes. It's hard to kill - so reducing heat efficiency on the Gauss-quirked -1, and shaving a little armor from the shield arms on the -6 and Aksum... is minor.

It's not like they're destroying the chassis, guys. It should be fine - games like this need adjustments; it's expected. I promise you the chassis is still going to be ok.

I love my Clan chassis - they're the easiest to get strong results with, and always have been. Which is why I'm kind of annoyed by the people who scream like they're being murdered every time PGI nerfs them. Even with the totally overpowered on-release Clans, the Clanner partisans screeched to the heavens when PGI added quirks to the Inner Sphere and reduced Clantech performance in order to bring balance back into something approaching sanity. And that same group of players seems to say the same things every time Clan chassis or equipment get nerfed - the sky is falling, the sky is falling, why do you hate the Clans:!?"

Come on. Sometimes the thing you play gets nerfed - it'll be ok.

Honestly people: the Bullshark will be nerfed just in time for the C-Bill release. That really gives a bad picture

No they didn't! Nor in the patch before that!

Look, are you perhaps thinking of the buffs to Proto-ACs, ERPPCs, and several Clan chassis (including the Linebacker and MAD IIC - B ) in October? Or the buffs to the Arctic Cheetah, Mad Dog, Nova Cat, and Summoner in November?

If you guys all want be Clanboys, that's your privilege - but don't expect anyone with input on balance to take you seriously when you scream blood-soaked murder about every nerf, and ignore buffs to the same tech base.

Well, when you think about it from the other direction, it might be the best time to nerf a chassis. Before now, only people who were early adopters, via the 'mech packs or MC, have had the 'mech, which will produce less data on balance than a full c-bill release. So unless a chassis is dramatically overperforming, waiting until the last patch prior to roll out balance changes makes sense - it gives the best chance that those changes will be accurate and result in a balanced C-Bill release.
