My question is did they fix the speed issue?

And where is Hollander?

You can just get your hands on the Abaddon (Clan Urbie, the best one for this), Cougar (the C or the H), the ballistic Panther (#2 best for this), or the Raven-4X (which has gauss ammo quirk) if you want a Hollander wannabe.

Also I thought the cope excuse for why the Dasher isn't gonna be added to the game is that "it's too fast for the engine" anyway?
I mean a 20t with 200 engine and MASC yeah, but if the screenshot is any hint, the hitbox seems like it would be pretty large (bigger than the Piranha and the Locust certainly) for a 20t and it would have comically very little free tonnage thanks to a 200 engine+2 cDHS and likely a locked MASC.

idk, they say its not possible, but they have done events in eq that pushes top speeds into the 200s easy, and i never had a problem.

I honestly thought that MWO was finished and done with anymore new Clan Omnimech chassis. It's been so long ago.

And yet, here we are :) ;) :)

I wonder what OmniPods will be available.

Fire Moth "Aletha" could be a nice choice.

I suspect it's not the engine and moreso the low tick rate of the servers, the faster the mech, the more wonky hit reg gets.

To be clear, the speed wasn't the issue (this is poorly understood). It was the accel/decel with MASC of a fully tweaked (skill tree) mech. This was leaked in the cauldron feedback discord, but fully skilled top speed is 209kph and the MASC was adjusted specially for the Fire Moth. Your accel/decel was nerfed and you won't have the agility of a Flea/Locust, moreso a Mist Lynx.

If some of you remember the "light mechs speed boost event queue" some months ago.... that was us testing hitreg on live servers.

More people are getting fiber internet, and there is low lag LEO Starlink, That should help pings and therefore reduce wonky hit reg.

ETA: Sweet! Many of us have wanted a Firemoth in MWO, for a very long time.

There was some uncertainty among the MWO players if the upcoming light 'Mech will be the Dasher or the Fire Falcon, so I am happy that now we know the next 'Mech's type.

Possibly, we can't anticipate everyone's internet setup, but we did make sure we had someone in NZ and someone in Australia test the ping via oceanic servers. Hit reg was consistent.

There are few mechs as iconic as this one that are not in the game yet. I'm very glad it's coming to MWO! (and we can assume to MW5 too)

PS: there are some other important light mechs needed in MWO: Wasp/Stinger (could come in the same mech pack) and Fire Falcon.

PPS: if you ever add the Chameleon to MWO, PGI, it should have the ability to deceive the enemies' computers and show up (in the sensors) as another mech. That would be fun.

Soooo how much quirk is this thing gonna get? I mean 5 tons of free tonnage (assuming full armor, but it's a 20t, do you really want to downarmor it even more just to get 0.5 more tonnage?)
Even the Flea in most variants have at least 7 tons in most variants, which means it can generally have higher alpha and impact matches rather well with. 5 tons of weapon even if it's clan weapons that are lighter (for MGs and missiles at least) is well, it's gonna be hard to work with.

Example Fire Moth-Prime on mechdb custom builder.

And as much agility as the Mist Lynx? I mean I guess it's not that big of a deal since it has MASC even if a nerfed version, and it's really only difference in milliseconds wise probably for it to go full stop/throttle.
Still, if the small laser MASC Commando (last year's christmas special free mech) is any hint, most players would really just crash and burn on this thing. And that thing had a lot of extra durability from being able to mount standard engine on a light mech. I'm not saying it's dead on arrival, I know some guys that can play that sort of builds really well, but it's certainly a rather raised skill floor just from the need to micro the MASC on top of being glass just for being a 20t.

Prime: Energy+missile is a pretty awkward mix, you could run it with either LRM/SRMs+ERML I guess, oddly similar to the LRM/SRM Locust.
B: Probably will be just be run on 2ERML+LMG, would really need a lot of MG RoF/energy quirks to vaguely even be wortwhile over LMG FLE-19/Locust-1V/3V
C: Has anyone here tried the LRM Locust? Yeah, it sucks despite all that LRM quirks, and this thing has no energy hardpoint to fall back into/put TAG in. Maybe some people would run 2C-SRM6s on it instead.
D: All energy variant, I guess it'll be comparable to the energy Piranha in some regards.
H: A lot of energy hardpoints meant for small lasers? Well that's neat, might supercede the energy Piranha if it's heavily quirked over the Piranha's practically none.
K: lasers+LMG, again.

Aletha: Well the MLX-C exists, and that thing is barely playable by virtue of having jump jets so it can maximize the amount of time it can shoot at the enemy team with C-ERLL+ECM across the map with its otherwise low DPS. This thing doesn't, and has to just walk around really fast. Alternatively it can just run 4C-ERML I guess, kind of like the ECM Flea, except with no option to mount stealth armor.

210kph via MASC with ECM and quad energy mounts, huh. Intriguing.

EDIT:

I also love the spread of firepower here. The H is gonna ship with nine heavy smalls, while the C manages a whole... two LRM5s. :v

Grant you they're omnis so mix and match is a thing. An Aletha with eight heavy smalls would be pretty owchy.

:cough: Wasp :cough:

I've checked, it has enough variants with enough variable hardpoints to make a viable MWO mech.

I'm a little confused, not just because the only official announcement pictures (that I've seen) is a picture on reddit.

When is it going to be released? Christmas? Will there be another patch this month?

Pardon my questions, I'm just excited.

Where did you find the data on configurations?

ETA: if other than what sarna.net says, since PGI often alters lore hardpoints.
