Can Matchmaker Be Even Worse?

His tonnage: 100 (Self confessed Atlas pilot, screenshot of Dire cockpit?)
The number of tubes he runs: anywhere from... uh, 20 (Atlas with 1 M, was it mentioned how atrocious the Atlas is with LRMs because it can not come close to running competitive amounts of tubes for tonnage barring that one AS7-M goofball) to 120 (BAS IIRC?)
Times he's posted in this thread: 57
Times he has shown any inkling of upping his game: 0

Why is it though? Lock-ons make aiming trivial, which is a core feature of this game given you don't have a singular health pool like most games. They also have indirect fire that homes in on mechs rather than areas which is partially why LRMs have been so overbearing in situations where they are strong.
There's a reason why LRMs have been a consistent issue in this game and it comes down to core mechanics that aren't getting changed which is why they are toned down compared to other weapons, because they have the potential to be the most unfun to play against weapon in the game. Yes, people hate getting beamed to death by blue lightsabers, but people hate being rained on by LRM mechs they can't even see more.

Don't forget the ATM fiesta years ago when you could turn into a loot pinata by someone running around with 3-4ATM12, and they got to click on you multiple times as well if you weren't dead already.

"Reflective armor" skill node: 16% of incoming energy and ballistic damage is reflected, if fired from more than 500m range, 5 skill nodes.
"Kinetic armor" skill node: 16% of incoming energy and ballistic damage is mitigated, if enemy 'Mech hasn't been stationary for at least 2 seconds, 5 skill nodes.

Alternate armour types arent actually a bad idea but they should be actual armour types that you have to install on your mech, not skill tree nodes. Madguy no doubt is proposing them because they buff him directly without him having to change anything about his builds. Im sure if you introduced hardened armour, case 2, NOVA CIWS, bloodhound active probes, blue shields, etc, to make weird nonstandard builds and non-optimal weights workable, he'd still be mad, because then he'd have to change his builds.
This is the thing about arguing in bad faith, its not really an argument, he just wants everyone to think it is.

Anyone can sit in the back and pull the trigger when the red box goes beep boop. My three year old nephew can do it, and I'm willing to bet that their damage numbers would make you blush. And while I primarily fault PGI for pigeon-holing MWO's LRMs into the role of a chronic embarrassment to the franchise, I also understand that it's far too late to change anything.
Ultimately, if you want to spend your free time throwing games in LRM Assaults, making no effort to improve as a player, simply shooting the **** with the lads while your kids prattle around behind you, more power to you. But you reap what you sow. Frankly, if you can't even be bothered to take responsibility, do the bare minimum and engage with the mechanics of the game (read: finding your own targets, and aiming your own weapons), you have no right to complain about your piss-poor performance.
I could rip into people like you for months on end, so be glad everyone here is treating you with respect-- fleeting as it may be.

Yes, but you know he's not gonna read that champ. You appear to be in touch with an agreed upon material reality and to madguy that's tantamount to being a member of the hate mob he thinks personally victimizes him every time he tries to play video games.

Yeah - his "suggestion" is deliberately bad in order to "showcase" how terrible he has it with LRMs. It'd be comical if he wasn't so bad at writing.

feast or famine play occasionally launches him up a tier on a good night, his extreme dependency on team puts him wholly at mercy of the other 23 players, he has a more-than-cadet grasp of game mechanics but his static and stubborn mentality locks him into that pattern of "throw missiles at lowbies until results are achieved or I get ganked > eventually raise tier > get set against competent team > sink" and no change to game mechanics is going to really alter that cycle meaningfully because others will adapt, he will not, and MM will continue to function

And, seriously - unless the thread violates the ToS in some way, it is not proper to lock it, despite the absolute idiocy being expressed.
