Greetings MechWarriors,

Normally, we'd be sharing the Patch Notes with you today—but the April Patch has been delayed.

The patch is about 98% complete, but some scheduling conflicts have held us back from finishing and releasing it as planned. All of the April content and changes will now be rolled into the May Patch, scheduled for release on May 20th.

In the meantime, Tiyos has the green light to share any sneak peeks or info he wants about the upcoming content—so keep an eye out.

Also coming next week:

• A big In-Game Sale on Standard Mechs, Hero Mechs, Engines, and Weapons
• A Free Mech Event you won’t want to miss

We want to reiterate that we’re still 100% committed to supporting MWO. While we mentioned in our Community Update that delays like this might happen, it’s never easy to make that call. That said, we’ve got something very exciting lined up for later this year—and believe me, you’ll want to see it.

Understandable with the new MW5 Clans DLC rolling out.

Listen I've come back after a very long hiatus, some time around the release of the MAD-IIC. Was around for the original closed beta but couldn't afford to buy a Founder's pack unfortunately. Whilst many of the long standing issues about the game remain, I'm having an absolute blast. So much so I've actually bought every single Legend mech. Bit of a no brainer really considering the price and what you get from the battlepass, great value for money originally but ridiculously priced in the current sale. People should be snapping these up straight away! $6 for a Hero mech, 7M cbills, 3000 MC, 100 GSP, 14 day premium time, cockpit items, decals and exclusive bolt-on.

So yeah I was surprised at how well the general balance actually is, especially when it comes to clan vs IS. I think the duration and heat of clan lasers could be reduced a little as I'm finding myself preferring IS mechs due to more varied weapons and cooler loadouts but otherwise it's great. Quirks are constantly evolving but other than a few outlying crap mechs and a few OP ones there's no overall problems here, it mostly works.

Unfortunately it's just the matchmaking. Really tough with a low population I know and sadly it's not likely to get any better. There must have been a PSR adjustment at some point because I left at T2 and came back as T4. This meant the teams I was in and/or facing may have been at a lower skill level than I was used to and my W/L ratio ended up really bad, below 0.8. Very frustrating considering a lot of my matches ended with me as the highest scoring pilot on my team. The good news is I've finally clawed my way back up to T3 and the W/L ratio seems to be evening itself out a bit. Let's see if I can get myself back up to T2

The Event Queue match that's just popped up is great fun with its infinite ammo and 2x armour. It's also the perfect opportunity to get those Legend battlepasses levelled up!

Shadowcat Noble Legendary seems to have quitely snuck in with little fanfare...

I assume the main reason for the patch delay was to finish the Black Knight rescale. Please make it at least 6% larger.,

Shadow Cat Noble legendary. Engine is 250 compared to the normal 270. Locked in the right torso is an IS AC20(uses Clan AC20 ammo just to keep things simpler on the mech). This AC20 and its hardpoint is locked on the chassis, not the omnipod. Putting the omnipod on another variant will result in an empty torso. This mech will be releasing in the May patch.

I just noticed this active, yet I don't see a corresponding forum/announcement on the website. Glitch? Or did I miss the announcement buried in another post somewhere?

What's the total event is it 12v12? or something less, because it only says max group of 2, for a player size. Queued up at the moment but haven't got a drop yet.

I see literally ZERO mention of this "Shadow Cat 'Noble' Legendary" Mech anywhere that I have looked on the MWO website so far!!! If there really is something new to tell of, then it NEEDS having explicitly received somewhere that such can be discussed within the MWO Forums themselves, and absolutely NEVER some strange off-site location which people must jump through hoops in order to reach!!! Bring the proof back to these MWO Forums instead of forcing others into undesired extra things!!!

Uh, "join this Discord" isn't much of a "hoop." There's no obligation for PGI to duplicate Cauldron releases here, since they're not officially announced. When it's still in the Cauldron phase, the information is on the Cauldron Discord - it's not onerous to download the fracking app, and I'm increasingly annoyed when people act like it is, man.

As for the hard-locked AC/20, it's not just locked to the pod, it's locked to the chassis - it's also an IS AC/20, the first mixed-tech experiment in MWO. If you add the pod to another Shadow Cat, it'll just be an empty torso (with no quirks, presently.) I'd guess that the reason for that is to keep the Legendary unique, as well as making it easier to analyze and balance the mixing of tech bases.
