My thoughts on the newly added gauntlet.
I was very excited when I saw the over view... 11EN+ECM+MASC(SC)+JJ...!
And today, I bought and rode around with the update... I was disappointed.

GTL-10

I don't think the Quiks numbers are weak, but the hardpoints are weak...
This is a common complaint for all variants except 10B, but the hardpoints are too weak anyway to use So8.
And So8 is not that powerful. But there are not so many good parts to begin with, so the meaning of reassembling it seems thin.
I felt that I wanted more PPCs and missile quiks in So8.

GTL-10A

Surprisingly, it was the variant that fit best in my hands.
It's a slightly larger LCT-1M, and I hope the addition of LRM AMMO Quiks and further reduction of missile CDs will solidify its standing.
I'd also like to see TARGET DECAY DURATION upgraded from 0.5 to about 1.5...

GTL-10B

Disappointing... ...as well as the lack of ML family HSL, the gauntlet can't add more heat sinks because the slots are dead in all variants!
It takes too long for the hot potato to cool down. I would like to see a little more heat mitigation or buff quiks in the ENERGY range.
All the utilities are there, but I didn't feel like I could make much use of them.

GTL-10C

Dunk shot into the trash can!
It reminded me of NVA-BREKER. (I feel more miserable than there...)
I am concerned about the fact that Hardpoint and Quiks are too disproportionate to each other.
At the very least, I'd like it to be closer to NVA-D...

Not to rain on MWO's parade, but the last time MWO came up with an IS mech with ECM+MASC+JJ, it was (drumroll):

Thunderbolt TDR-10SE in the Stryker Booster Pack.
IS mech with ECM+MASC+JJ !
That's a 65 ton mech.

I myself tried ECM+MASC+JJ, and it took away from weapon payload IMHO...
Other players seem to feel the same way too, and many (and including myself) only put ECM on it. No MASC. No JJ.
And that's a 65 ton mech, this TDR-10SE.

So can we expect a 55 ton Gaunlet (GTO-series) mech to field all three ECM+MASC+JJ ?
Not in my mind... above reason was quite clear to me...

===========
Solution?

1) IS ECM module to weight 1 ton and just 1x critical slot, like its Clan counterpart? (yes, the TT purists may be up in arms).

2) Same Gaunlet performance using just a supercharger and no MASC, like the Seraph Legendary Mech?

3) Reduce the number of JJ baked into the Gaulet variants, and +JJ quirks like the Sovereign Legendary Mech?

4) Add ballistic LT/RT unique torso parts only accessible in the Gauntlet Booster Pack, and this part would never be released for C-Bills?

I'm not interested in this series of mechs...yet.

Better to buff a new mech in future patches than come out with something so strong it needs nerfs in the first few months after release.

Good hunting,

Pretty sure this was released underpowered until they get enough live server data to make adjustments.

That would be insane. And ignore the development and play history of the last three years.

Lazy is the word that sums up the entire booster pac. This piece of trash makes the Hachetman launch look well thought out and successful. Seriously, whoever was running point on this booster needs to have their priviledges pulled, just so awful.

And why is it such a big deal? because at this point in the game and after the layoffs made this year we are not going to be getting a ton of content going forward and lazy fail work like this is only going to leech the limited resources of possible future content where someone will give enough of a darn to actual produce something worthwhile.

Save your money folks, the Guantlet booster is so bad.

Understand there is no longer a test server of any type so anything new like this or any balance changes get their first real mass test on the live server. Data is collected just like if there was a test server and adjustments are made next patch if deemed needed. Also the stated after a few of the early mech released went out overpowered that all new mech releases would be purposely undertuned then adjusted later to avoid nerfs. This game is on maintenance mode and we are lucky we get this much.

10 SPL + 2 ASRM6 does a theoretical 60+ Alpha.

You lose ECM (Which frankly ********** your builds in that same side torso with it taking 2 slots), but instead of you doing piddly 20 damage with snubs that can't use LAA ANYWAY, or middling MPL damage with burn time, you can be an immediate threat, and then have each arm do 20 damage with the SRMs being heat neutral when you're riding the curve.

JJs might actually be better than MASC + Supercharger in the brawl. Being able to get the drop on someone *in theory* by scaling cliffs and appearing behind might cinch more fights than being able to briefly run 40 KPH faster with a wildly shaking reticle.

At first I thought I wanted a laser HSL on my 10B, but now I'd rather have range up and heat down than HSL.
It is too hot to use as a generic NOVA, and the range is too hard to fight as a main SL. I felt I wanted range and heat mitigation to fill that gap.

I would like the 10A to have more powerful AMMO Quiks and missile CDs to increase target acquisition time from 0.5 to 1.0~2.0.
I'd also like to see the addition of sensor range Quiks so that it can operate like a missile buggy.
To be more specific, I'd like these to be changed from So8 to part-by-part Quirks to make them flexible, but spiked with So8.

One month later seems too late.

I think we should at least have an adjustment within 2 weeks to match the fresh feedback...
