Sheesh, you guys never tried at least test-driving the Grand Summoner (the first instance of iJJs in the game) or something?
It's just JJs with more thrust per JJs (and red thruster plume), except they've only been put in on omnimech pods in locked overkill quantities (because derp/lore accuracy), which when paired with how heavy each of them are (and lack of other quirks on the pods that has them), made builds using them to be rather meh. Hence why you don't even see GSummoners using them.
I seriously doubt people will use it over other pods with that same downside (doesn't help that the Gargoyle has the overweight cXL400 locked) on the Gargoyle either even though the Victor Li Dok To exists already as an example of an fast heavy-assault with just as much vertical thrust (thanks to quirks instead of overweight equipment) albeit slower ground speed.

SUMMONER GANG

2xERPPC 9xAPG
Another mech with the PPC APG/MAG archetype, it's certainly a proven niche. The arms have made the Summoner with peeps even better since its previous options for supplementary weapons had too few hardpoints (ERSL) or are spread and hot (SRM4).
https://mwo.nav-alph...f99da7_SMN-PTSP

2xBL 10xLMG
I think I overfed my Beam Mishi...
https://mwo.nav-alph...c3c83a_SMN-PTSP

3xPC 3xPAC2
Wanted to see how a midrange one would go on this thing, and the answer ends up being pretty good.
https://mwo.nav-alph...6bff2d_SMN-PTSP

5xPAC2
There's also this, but the option to have at least some oomf while poptarting will make the PC PAC2 one above better imo
https://mwo.nav-alph...b398b4_SMN-PTSP

4xERLL TC7
Wake up, babe! There's another giga-energy-range clan mech! 1175 optimal on a mech that can actually handle the strip and heat!
https://mwo.nav-alph...06117a_SMN-PTSP

Overall... who could have predicted *this much* bloat would be strong? Should be fun, though, and while it definitely improves the chassis a lot for certain build types I don't think it's too game breaking. Time will tell, though, of course.

---------------

CULT OF THE LANNER

AC10 3xPC
All arm mounted for heheheha shoot up/down shenanigans. It's like if someone pulled an uno reverse on NTG-D's weapons...
https://mwo.nav-alph...0c7d59_BKL-MTSP

HAG30 5xERML
Hagvom is an obvious choice for this mech and this is the best way to do it, ya got the hardpoints and ERMLs are good
https://mwo.nav-alph...95d8f5_BKL-MTSP

2xHLL 3xERML
Best laservomit option, not very many hardpoints but is still good. Also realized this is the same as Levi's build but with the TC1 OCD'd ... That seems to be the case a lot in these mechs where each build is kinda weird tbh, not entirely sure how to think about it...
https://mwo.nav-alph...08cc1e_BKL-MTSP

Mech is good Posted Image Go blanner (even though it is odd once since battlemech)

---------------

GARGLER

2xHLL 6xERML 8xERuL
Longer range / more alpha version of the classic Sungoyle, having the extra CT health will definitely help this mech since it gets cored out pretty easily. With the 2/3 torsos, and 3 meds in the LA, and micros both arms, reminds me of the EXE-M weapon arrangement looking at the mechlab lol.
https://mwo.nav-alph...652dd3_GAR-MTSP

2xHLL 5xERML 9xERuL
Not on the M but using its new omnipods, an option for torso-only on the main laservomit (like the OG Sungoyle)
https://mwo.nav-alph...=60847678_GAR-D

2xHLL 6xERML (2xIJJs)
The AMS Ammo is standing in for the 2xIJJ torso that will come for the August patch. Decent side peeker
https://mwo.nav-alph...7aeb22_GAR-MTSP
https://mwo.nav-alph...173b61_GAR-MTSP

3xPC 2xPAC4 (2xIJJs)
Again, AMS ammo replacing 2xIJJ. Seems just meh, but wanted to see non-stock poptart do something.
https://mwo.nav-alph...090e7d_GAR-MTSP

Imagine if MWO didn't have a weapon limit: https://mwo.nav-alph...=74e2c88f_GAR-D
Fun mech.

---------------

TRASH CAN

2xBL 11xLMG
I think I squished the Summoner above... he's slow and can't fly... oops
https://mwo.nav-alph...753_UM-IIC-MTSP

Unfortunately, can't really do good dakka, it can do 3xUAC2 very meh but this thing overall seems pretty anemic imo. It's funny I guess, though.

---------------

Thanks for coming to my YAP talk
A number of these will be going on GrimMechs shortly
Have a nice day, everyone o7

I have not. I am unintersted in Heavy mechs, and never encountered them utilizing the equipment in the wild as far as I could tell.

So "MWO JJs, but bigger and about the same". Got it.

trash cans :)
https://mwo.nav-alph...9f6_UM-IIC-MTSP - 2xerppc+ 4x apg backup - long range

https://mwo.nav-alph...553_UM-IIC-MTSP - uac20 + pppc - face melter. more or less.

https://mwo.nav-alph...773_UM-IIC-MTSP - 2x pac4 + 2x pppc midrange support

https://mwo.nav-alph...5b4_UM-IIC-MTSP - the "thats not happening"

https://mwo.nav-alph...a35_UM-IIC-MTSP - 3xpac2+ 2xpppc - little bit longer range than the pac4, better sustain, one less ton of ammo

https://mwo.nav-alph...cf7_UM-IIC-MTSP - 2xHLL + 4xapg - hll w/ apg backup

https://mwo.nav-alph...c56_UM-IIC-MTSP - GR + ERLL - long range again

https://mwo.nav-alph...366_UM-IIC-MTSP - 2xLPL+ 8x apg - LPL with apg backup. tbh this is almost just better than the HLL build.

Yep, there was an error and the poor Charger was forgotten about! Now that the pack is out, it's too late to add it back in.

However, I can add it in as a comp queue reward for this year along with the other CS mech so players can still get it!

What about TSP 2021 warhorns? Why not included in the retro pack?

Urbie has no jump jets so I'm gonna have to skip on this, though still waiting for a missile urbie IIC that loads a single ATM 12 in the arm....

Gargoyle needs
Energy heat quirks
set of 8 laser quirks Or laser quirks like maybe 5% range on arms and side torsos

Summoner might need some ammo quirks maybe some heat quirks

Black lanner might need some heat quirks

Urbie needs heat quirks and ammo quirks

For team killing, writing nonsense in team chat and being AFK which describes your playing style, you don`t really need that jump jets. So relax. You can buy it anyway to support the Devs

How about TSP 2025 Pack 4, for:
CGR-1A1(TSP)
2021 TSP Warhorns

I'll buy multiple packs of this, as I love both! ;)

No Urbie only? :(

If one of the others packed were a Clan Unseen I'd be down. There are a few.

If I am seeing it correctly, you must buy either the $40.00 pack or the $65.00 pack to get it.

Because it has +30 FB armor, it's pretty much as durable as 55t and 60t heavies.
Engine cap of 90 does put it as slow as an assault though, so it's also pretty meh that way.

But hey, you get to just win 1v1 arena events when it's light only since your opponents won't have anywhere as much hitpoints.

So what does the 2025 TSP Warn Horn sound like?

(I've already bought the Retro Bundle for its 2022 TSP Warn Horn, and am on the market for that "The Works" TSP pack ;) )

(I wish that there's a way to buy more of those 2021 TSP Warn Horn, but I digress...)

So what exactly are improved jump jets bringing when converted to MWO?

I'm still extremely hesitant to bother with a Gargoyle, unless it becomes an aerial ballerina.

iJJ in tabletop propel a mech twice as far for double crit and double tonnage. In MWO they get 50% more initial boost and 100% more zboost and I think half heat. They also still weigh 2 tons and use 2 crit slots. They’re used more as a balancing tool so that a certain chassis variant can get hops but doesn’t automatically become the best. JJs in general add to a mech's survivability by helping twist away damage, while also making it easier to play due to terrain accessibility.
The Garg was only supposed to have 2 iJJ but has 4 by mistake, which takes away 4 crits and 4 tons. This will be rectified in August patch.
In the case of the Grand Summoner, giving them normal JJ would've invalidated the original Summoner and if the Prime with a JJ CT had been released, it would've even invalidated the Timber Wolf due to have a JJ CT, armor quirks, and within 0.5 tons of pod space. This was all scienced/mathed out before releasing iJJ back when the Grand Summoner was first conceived so we are well aware of what sort of builds would've been possible with regular JJ.

They haven't changed so the old info is still accurate, but to answer you here -

8v8 Conquest, standard QP limit of 750 tickets
480 tons deck limit (for your team of 8)
No more than 3 of a weight class (e.g., mediums)
No more than 1 variant from a chassis
Thursdays and Saturdays midnight to midnight Pacific time

also there are mech restrictions like i don't think you can use certain hero or mc only mechs.

The tournament version of the Gargoyle M, makes no sense. There's already an M variant in the Lore. All of the weapons are readily available: 3 SRM 2's with ton of ammo (SRM) (LT), HAG 20 (RA), 3 tons ammo (HAG) (RT), and a ER PPC (LA). I hope this version is released as a loyalty 'Mech.

Soon after purchase, tho it can take up to an hour or maybe a bit more. The database refreshes slowly.
