I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I just picked up mw5 mercs, and its put a smile on my face! The game is really really fun to play, and the graphics are far more impressive in person than on screenshots, especially the Mech hanger.

Got it running on my ps5 on 4k. Walking around seeing your mechs in that perspective is just great to see. I put my TV sharpness and colour up, the metal of the mechs looks so good, and seeing the blue ice snow maps tinge was also cool since for me as it was nostalgic.

Anyway the combat and sounds is also really great fun. You can hear Ac shots whizzing by you like some saving private Ryan move. Aiming a distance with ACs is fun and rewarding, but so is just brawling and melee'ing at close range. You can really run around and cause havoc. The mechs sometimes explode like crazy. Jump jetting around is extremely fun and so is running through buildings. Take some time to set the controls to your liking, as it makes a difference.

Anyone on the fence about getting it definitely pick it up on special.

It is a pretty solid game for a vanilla and modded playthrough or two, really is a shame PGI decided to not support the game with content.

It was released in 2019 and they stuck with the mechpack model.....
Just on the existing heroes they should have some 50+ or so DLCs with mini campaigns leading you to just the IS heroes.

It's all assets they already had, and had paid for. All they needed to do was make some short (5 or something mission) campaigns with the same low budget art and text they used for the rest of their dlc.

And in the 6 years its been out they never implemented any update - or what would have been more interesting, a campaign to unlock the full mechlab which is as far as I can see one of the most popular mods since very early on. Clearly this is something a substantial amount of players still wanted to have access to but we ran into the problem that PGI staff intentionally stays disconnected from their game's community.
