Yay, changes that looks mostly decent for once.
Kind of wished the lost -5 FBStructure on Summoner stays on some of the variants like Prime, C, or B's So8 though but whatever, it was pretty silly anyway.

1t sCockpit is a bit annoying but reasonable.
RL changed to being stream rocketpods might be interesting I guess.
MASC Commando losing heat quirk kind of stupid since to overheat on it is pretty much on the target/enemy team's fault at priority for letting it shoot that much with its small lasers.

Spectre buff is cool, though I would've asked for general heat quirk replacing the pulse laser ones instead of +top speed since it flies long enough for the JJ heat to be notable.

Hover Incubus seems kind of whatever.

It is -1 ton, they worded it poorly.

Other than the Arrow becoming that much more fragile again, most of the nerfs are not drastic.

Though I need to do the math on the small cockpit when I get home from work, something is not adding up in head.

Oh.
Well that's just why? Lore accuracy aside, the vehicles with sCockpit in this game are already pretty strong.
Then again it was really just the Warlord before the Hovercubus and now the Blight.

The lore accuracy is in service of opening the door to bringing more, canon variants who have it into the game as they are without rendering their configurations invalid on entry.

If you looked at the rest of the notes..
Warlord and commando D03 got a nerf cause of the change.

The small cockpit adjustment puts it in-line with lore yes, and well, it also enables other stuff that's yet to be revealed. Enjoy.

Yeah... no. I don't think melee is in the cards for MWO. For better or for worse. lol

I'd love to have it, myself, but it really does not seem a realistic prospect for the foreseeable future.

as much as I think RAC might start being kinda decent now I can already see some people that don't twist ranting how they wil be OP after the change (same people that would just stare the RAC down to hold their lock for LRM)Posted Image.

as for rockets... very high hopes, it might stop being a firing weapon (though I sincerely hope You had foresight to prevent clicking more then 8 times a second from being flat-out DPS improvement on them at no downside Posted Image .

Also... I am not convinced that Jenner-O wil now be less competitive... certainly looks stronger to me to be able to slap these missiles in a tighter pack & that will surely benefit pilots of higher skill over average pilot, + if enemies skimp out on AMS the extended range might make it safer to play
(though then again reverse speed is dictated by max speed I think, so it'd peak back slightly slower)

Huge THANK YOU for artemis ammo fix (now it's in line) - very good and welcome change; Artemis was already bigger & heavier as is, it's nice that it doesn't bring less ammo/tonPosted Image... I can already see some fun to be had with Artemis 4 and LPPC on some mediums... ammo was little iffy before but now it might work finePosted Image .

While I agree that this incubus will probably be bad
The spectre and Apache are both really, really good. You just need to play them a certain way.

I am very curious as to what this "Certain way" is.

Apache wins by virtue of having sheer stream of damage and ability to lock someone down from accurately firing back.

Spectre can't do that, and relies on light mech tactics without having the speed, agility, size, or alpha damage of a typical light mech.

None of these ways I have observed from effective Partial wing mech players involve "Hoverjetting around and signposting "Shoot me please", unless it was done from either absurdly high up that nobody would think to look, or it was 1v1 time at the end of the match, and they would have won vs stripped enemies regardless of what semi-competent build they had.

It got buried under all the MW5 Wolves updates.

They're specifically talking about comp play; if you watch how they're used in MWOWC matches, the Oxide is played as part of brawler groups, where they're close enough to not worry about spread anyways, and the speed and armor is extremely valuable against 99.9th percentile players who will hit their shots. Conversely, if you're on a disorganized pub team, a lot of the match will be spent harassing and looking for openings that you can't create alone, so poking at range is more valuable.

The logic is reasonable, even though "400m poking light #3,725,183" is a lot less fun and unique than "35T that runs 160". Posted Image

Rocket Launchers have been a polarizing weapon, their primary use serving as a griefing one shot weapon

Hmmm...

See I have no problems with changing the Rockets, I don't care.

I am curious and a bit concerned that this change is because they were deemed "polarizing" To who? I ask because a search of these official forums run by PGI has exactly 3 rocket based complaint threads since 2020. And none recently, but at the same time several weapons systems are called out here on the Official forums again and again and again and are always ignored by staff.

So to who and where do we complain about a weapon to get this special treatment? Or is it who complains? I've saw mention of the rocket launchers over on reddit a couple months ago but that is reddit and this is THE OFFICIAL FORUMS run by PGI. The player base comes here to buy new mechs and MC, this is the supposed official forum, so why the double standard on complaint?

We shouldn't have to go to reddit or discord to get our input listened to, not to mention the reddit and discord discussion are controlled and censored by 3rd parties with their own agendas.

Players... customers should be able to know that their comments and input are read and considered HERE ON THE OFFICIAL FORUMS. Lots of us work and have families we don't have the time to go spamming our concerns across half a dozen different sites hoping they get heard, especially when they should be heard HERE.

Seeing this fix for a problem addressed on another site and only showing up here at patch time really pisses me off and insults my patronage.

Let's see attention and changes address problems here on the OFFICIAL FORUMS.
