i think most of agree that mw2 mercenaries had the best start up comp in the mech so this game is gonna def be a hit but lets keep our fingers crossed that the mech's power up 'voice'wil make the game even more worth playing ;)

Long as they have that computer voice (in any form) I'll be happy. Its not MechWarrior without a computer yelling in your ear your heats to high and constant overrides of the shut down are going to get you killed, O and FYI missiles incoming.

Like I posted in the "Things you would buy" section, I want the car mod! USB to radar detector for "Enemy Detected", etc. Also, the in game music from MW:2 is from Jehuun Hwang titled (now) "Wolves on the Prowl" I think. We need him on this project musically.

The Sheldon Cooper Voice

Aegis: *Powers up Mech*
Sheldon: Fusion-based propulsion subsystems procurable. External multi-faceted anomaly detection subsystems procurable. Damage induction via physical kinetics subsystems procurable. All subsystems achieved peak maximum operating efficiency.
Aegis: .....what? Fusion-based propulsion subsystems?!? What the heck is that?!?!
Sheldon: It's the subsystem responsible for the conversion of potential energy into kinetic for the means of relocation at another coordinate in the current plane of existence.
Aegis: ........... you mean MOVING!?
Sheldon: In Laymen's terms, yes.
Aegis: Just send my purchase order through Merc Net, will you... I want to buy supplies for a refit.
Sheldon: May I suggest you backup the harddrive where your account data is stored before I perform this action?
Aegis: ?? I guess....sure.... How do I backup the harddrive?
Sheldon: You throw it in reverse.
Aegis: ........
Sheldon: Bazinga.

I can't beleive you actually influenced me to read that in Sheldon Cooper's voice... I almost feel ashamed for my gullibility... almost. :)

I would pay for my CPU voice to be Paul's, but only so I can have fun muting it with the push of a button.

The Mandark of the live action Dextor's Laboratory, aka The Big Bang Theory. Kind of a hit I hear.

I really hope they leave this section of the UI user-modable.

I can already envision lifting soundboards and TNG episodes for Brent Spiner quotes.

I want Wheatley to be my CPU voice.

"Um... okay... uh, apparently... they have ECM - butthat'salright, it's alright.. because I... uh.. I can - I can hack it! Yes... I can hack it!

"Okay, okay... ummmm.. preparing to engage hacking... um.. algorithem.. system.. process. Now. Intiating hacking... now."

"Is it working?"

I remember back when playing Mechwarrior 2 one of the coolest things was the mech's startup at the beginning of each mission. Besides being dropped off and hearing the whole thing slowly spool up, there was a lovely computer lady calmly stating little details as your mech whirred to life.
[...]
It was one of the best touches the game had, and they made it perfect.
The voice was the most elusive thing ever- it had a relaxed side to it, as if it wasn't bothered by anything, kept things short, and subtly changed tone depending on the subject.

100% agreed. The Mechwarrior 2 computer voice is, in my opinion, THE perfect computer voice. Its cool, tells you exactly what you needed to know, but still sounds like a computer (something the other games didn't get right).

She should sound souless and depending on the severity of the warning, there might be a WHOOP! or BEEP! sound effect accompanying the warning.

I don't say much around here, but this time I definitely have to say that having a good computer voice is crucial to the immersion factor of any simulation game. The computer voices in MW2, MW2:Mercs, MW3 and MW4 were respectively: Awesome, Lame, *shrugs* and Passable.

Oh yes, the MW2 voice! Seriously, I dream about that voice. It was the absolute calmness! "Critical Hit: Heat Sink. Internal Heat Critical, Emergency Shutdown Imminent. [Bleepbloop] Emergency Shutdown Overridden." while you were clinging so your life with the last bits of mech you had left, this girl was reciting some poem about heat sinks.

Just get a hold of those samples and reuse them. They were perfect. ;)

I personally way preferred the MW2:Mercenaries voice over the MW2 one. Though maybe that's cuz I played Mercs first.

The start-up lines were iconic to me. I set it as my computer's start-up sound. ;)
And you can guess what I have for my shut-down sound of course!

I definitely think having sets we can choose from would be awesome. And then abilities to purchase additional ones would be a great means of profit if done right (licensing issues may arise of course, so be sure of supply and demand to make sure it's worth it).

I hope the sound effects will be as immersive as in the old games. All the sounds of the mech really added to the feel of it, and the computer voice is the icing on the cake!

I like the idea of different companies have different voices as default, but they can be changed. Maybe for money I wouldn't care.
Lyran Mechs maybe with German as standard, Liao with chinese that would be fun.

I would like to have the voice of Snake, Solid Snake or Snake Plissken, I don't mind, both would be fun. And I liked the idea of Christopher Walken :-)
