I want at least one computer voice pack done by Dan Castellaneta.

As Homer Jay Simpson.

Pricey but wondering if Helen Mirrin would be interested in voicing B1tch1n' Betty. We could always hope for the industry standard; Kim Crow.

Not only computer voice!

We need nice AC, PPC, actuators, ammunition load sound etc ...
There are so many preferences in our world.

How many MechWarriors or technicians do you know that can change the way a PPC sounds when it fires? Or fiddle with what an LRM ammo loader sounds like? I don't see this happening at all, and we don't need it -- weapon sounds should be the same for everyone.

On the other hand, changing the computer voice should be a fairly easy process, even for a trainee.

Dear Durant Crlyle,
I don't know which stuff you smoke but please reread my and your post

Its not about to change sound of PPC or LRM ... I don't even understand what you trying to say (customizable sounds!?)
Loader sound for recycle of AC can be extracted from modern howitzers, its about how the sound appear, no one said copy that sound and copy this one ... no
it is about to look at it as preference and to create a new one ...

The "preferences" line of your post was what made me think you were wanting to have customizable weapon/loader sounds. I apologize for the misunderstanding.

How about TED NUGENT
Maybe have a different Nuge Riff to let you know what's going on like "stranglehold" for "target acquired" or "whang dang sweet pun tang" for "heat level critical"
Or how about Chuck Norris...
You could have the sounds of different punches and roundhouse kicks indicate the status of your systems...

Lucy Lawless MAN!

That voice...especially when she does her American accent...
She would make an awsome computer voice! (She even does a lot of voice acting I hear!)

Actually, I kinda like the idea of making Celebrity voices for the computers part of the premium content.

You would have a generic female voice unless you want to pay for a specific voice!
They could even make a deal with celebrities that they earn a minor % per perchase to cover the
expense of hiring them! :D

I just finished reading an older post on this subject and had to see how things sit now with those interested...

I say hire Lucy Lawless...
But multiple Celebrity voices would be cool too. :D

I'd be all for making it the players choice, whether they want a male or femal voice, just like in Crysis where you can pick your suit-voice to be male or female.

Actually I'd also settle for good ol' betty! :D

btw I think I once heard of a study that did prove that male jetpilots are more inclined to listen to a female's voice than to a male's, which is why the standard vocie for warnings like "pull up! pull up!" is female...
hardly related and more of a fun fact, but I wonder if it's the other way around for female pilots. ^^

I vote that piranha makes this one of the DLC aspects to generate some cash.

The game comes with a default voice, but you can grab some new ones with a few bucks.

I liked the idea of celebrity voices after I saw WALL-E and thought Sigourney Weaver was great.

H.A.L., S.H.O.D.A.N. or G.L.A.D.O.S. would be hilarious (though probably litigeously prohibitive).

Regarding fighter pilots, they also used to (or still do) put center fold pics of girls among the long boring training slide shows pilots had to watch to keep their attention focused on the material.

As I recall, the main reason for the female voice was the fact that it differenciated it from all the male voices in the aircraft.
(In this case Second World War bomber aircraft where the system was first invented)

I like the female AI voice from MW3, having something like that available would be nostalgic for me. The whole power-up sequence at the start of a match, the AI voice combined with the sounds of the engine and other systems coming to life would be cool, IMO.

The female voice from either MW2 or the EVE Online tutorial.. *sigh*

If there is a male option it has to be Duncen Fischer: "Heat level, critical.. say that reminds me of my days as a young Solaris mech jock! Man those were great tim.. Weapon, destroyed.. "

I prefer a few choices, but really if they got Morgan Freeman or George Takei to do the voice I'd be fine with that.
