I'm very interested to see how things pan out. They are following day to day with earth days exactly 1038 years in the future (3049). As of this year in August will be the first glimpses the inner sphere will see of the clans http://www.sarna.net/wiki/3049. However this is slow and takes time. I would however expect to prob see some clan tech in this game within a year or so after launch, assuming it launches this summer. I really like the idea of this, because it will put us into a perspective of what it would be like to get used to the inner spheres weapons and tech, then to be slowly intoduced to what would seem like an overwhelming power, just as the innersphere people would see it as. It will bring a whole new perspective to the idea that we havn't really seen in a video game before and should be quite interesting.

With these additions, does this mean (for example) a light, scout 'mech can spot an enemy unit and act as a 'spotter' for an LRM carrier, similar to the Tabletop? If so, Catapults just became a lot more awesome.

In regards to this, however, will NARC beacons be implemented in the game? If so, will they be able to help with the LOSD limitations for the rest of the lance?

This design resembles the US Army Future Combat Systems program. The backbone of which is a battle field information network fed by sensors and which distributes information, friendly and enemy, to commanders and units. The system concepts are good. Can the developers bring it down to a usable level by the players? I hope so.

Keep at it guys, can't wait to play.

Are there plans to have map related intel systems, beyond passive environmental effects and buildings? I.E. Is there a possibility of being able to target installations like listening posts to "blind" the enemy forces?

This all sounds pretty sweet. I may have to reconsider grabbing a Medium and go with a Light instead. I would like some more info on how the C3 is going to work.

HighlanderClutch: Electronic Jamming is just broadcasting out a stronger signal that overwhelms the opponents signal. What do you think most jamming pods from Northwind use as their basic signal. This also brings up the first law of mechanized warfare, if you know where the opponent is and they do not know the reverse. you almost always win. so blind the sucker. and then have your way with the rest of them.

Um...yeah. Battletech already has several light mechs that specifically perform that function. The Raven was created in 3025 with that capability, and there have been others since.

I'm liking the aspect of intel gathering and counter intel ops. Fog of war notwithstanding, counter intel operations play a huge role in planetary assault. The question, will there be DEST teams available to "win the hearts and minds"?
