Well, it does not hurt in the movies. But, yeah. The more it hurts, the better result you get. :P

there is a distance issue with 3D; at the movies you are far enough a way so it doesn't effect people as badly (although, obviously, some still find it painful) the likes of 3D tv, and the 3DS, the effect is so close that it has caused severe issues. I believe the 3DS even induced vomiting on some poor souls.

Having said that, Mario always made me get the dry boak for some reason, 3D or not.

no 3d please kill it now until a time when it work without the bloody glasses

This.

Right now 3D is just a gimmick. A poor excuse for one at that.

When they can do it right, without the need for glasses, I will consider using it. Until then, I would rather game developers spent their time on more important issues, like getting the game out, new maps & mechs, etc...

If, after all of that, they have time to incorporate 3D support for those few who use it, then great. But it should not even be on their list of priorities for at least another year or so.

EDIT: Just noticed someone mention they have a monitor that has 3D support without glasses. It's good to know they are making progress in that direction, but it doesn't change the fact that 3D support should not be a priority in MWO. Besides, as others have stated, I get headaches myself whenever I watch anything in 3D.

I would not want them to delay the game release to get 3D implemented. If they get it in, and it doesn't cause other problems, more power to the folks that want to use it. If they just add it in later during an expansion, that's cool too. For now, my display priorities are geared toward multiple displays and touch screen capability.

Right now, I suspect there are more people doing multiple (wide) screen gaming, than 3D gaming. Making the best use of that probably makes more sense, if it is currently a "support/develop one, or the other" proposition. Of course, they may be developing for both already...

I actually laughed out loud.

I had a Dolphin magic eye picture when I was a child.

And I never saw it. I could NEVER see those things.

hehehe, same here. I hadn't seen 'magic dolphin' ever, doesn't matter how hard I'd tried, lol.

I've never had an issue with 3d, though I'd much prefer Eyefinity over 3D. so my peripheral vision is filled. Yes I can see you coming out of the corner of my eye XD

No.
**** 3D.
**** it in the Eye.
It's the new must have that makes stuff more expensive while making it worse <.<

I'll fake some interest in 3D, when they make new 3D-Glasses/Helmets with Data-Gloves with MODERN Tech.

LG have a 3D tvs which dont require shutter glasses that cause the headache effect in most of the people affected by 3D - apparently some still get it which LG's version.

I would like the idea of 3d support ut not at the expense of delaying the game - my new rig that I will build later this year will hopefully support it but I will mainly be building for multi monitor support - that to me is more important & immersive

So, my monitor supports 3d with out glasses, so I would love to see a 3d option.
However, I agree that it shouldn't come at the expense of game play, or a later release, or any of that. If that means they have to release a 3d option post launch, wonderful. For those who have 3d capable screens, I think I speak for all of us, by saying that a lack of 3d is in no way a deal-breaker.

There will be a lot of hospitalized MW fans out there if this happens. I know this because although 3D makes me wanna throw up and gives me a severe headache, i watched Avatar in 3D anyway just so that i can see a Mech in 3D. I hate to see what happens if there is a MW game with that feature. People willingly drink too much knowing that there is a severe hangover waiting in the morning so how much more are MW fans willing to hurt themselves to pilot an Atlas in 3D?

Please don't do this to us devs because you will KILL US. It's like feeding chocolate covered razorblades to kids during halloween. Funny but just plain wrong....just my MO. :D

I'm a big fan of 3D Vision, and as such own a 3D Vision surround setup, specifically anticipating MW:O. As the engine already natively supports it, it shouldn't be much effort on the development side, and as a consumer, if you don't like 3d, you're welcome to not use it.

I tried to get Nvidea 3d vision, I had the Nvidea part for a few weeks but could not find a monitor with 120 refresh rate to use the damn things... so I took it back, and bought my current PC rig instead of just upgrading my old one.

"3D" TVs, Monitors, Glasses, and the like have been the worst gimmick to plague modern technology today and is often done improperly and results in more eye strain and possible brain damage from realizing after a few hours you just spent almost double on something that's not very immersive or effect.

I'd rather have a standard HD monitor or TV since it works all the time without me getting headaches or worry is somebody actually did something in a format that displays properly.

Current major issue with 3D is that MAJORITY of all "3D" movies are not recorded with 3D in mind and are only made "3D" once the movie theathres get them. They simply take the video and make the 3D channels, but they're doing it with flat static data. You have to actually film a movie for 3D for it to be truely "3D".

I'd rather wait till we get holo-projections or holo-rooms where everything is simulated. That way when I play a game it actually renders and draws everything around me. Now THAT I'd throw money at.. Entire virtual chamber that allows you to see and control everything in a mech and the environment around me? YES PLEASE!

I'd said i'd give 3D a try once the virutal reality "glasses/helmets" came back . . and here is sony, doing what i want!
Now combine with the track-ir stuff and we have a winner!
No shutter-stuff, no filter-stuff, 2 screens each giving each eye it's own image and the 3D only happens in your brain.
only downside: not full HD, but eh, with 720p resolution you probably get better frame rates to boot . .
And what happens, if the source material is FullHD-Signal and gets displayed on HD Ready anyway? O.o
Quality should still be pretty much top notch . . a kind of downsampling or what that stuff is called, where people use 4xFullHD Resolution as the output to a 1xFullHD display . .

The only reson i havn't gone with nvidia's 3d setup is I'm waiting for them to go with bluetooth glasses instead of infrared.I would love for this game to go 3d surround ready but as a secondary to getting out a great game.If its in a patch I would not mind waiting for it but it should be implimented.

I use, and have used, the NVidia 3D Vision for some time now, and actually hate having to switch back to 2 D to play some games. I think it is remarkably good, and some of the latest releases really showcase it.

The Witcher 2 is stunning in 3D, as are the Batman games, World of Warcraft, Just Cause 2, Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3, Crysis 2, and so on.

There are some old games that run incredibly well in 3D too, Rogue Trooper possibly being my favourite.

I am very pleased to hear the devs are including stereoscopic support, as I feel this would really accentuate the immersion. When I use to play Steel Battalion: LOC I always prayed for the day a game like it came out in playable 3D. It seems that time is almost near!

The best thing about it is it takes very little extra work to create a 3D gaming masterpiece. The driver itself does the rendering, basically creating a second image. All devs need to worry about are some shading anomalies and placing HUDs at the right depth.

To all those who 'hate' 3D, that's your perogative, and you're not obliged to install the drivers or buy the hardware. Just don't spoil it for those that do like it.

Oh, and hi! This is my first post. Looking forward to seeing you all Online when the title is released.

MWLL works nice enough with 3DVision. Though I'm sure MWO will do better.

Played for 5 hours the day before yesterday with no nausea or other issues (except the wife killing my bandwidth setting up Diablo 3).
