Question: Will some sort of weight limit or tonnage bracket be set up for the random battle mode, to prevent undue stacking of assaults on one side over the other? When one side has a healthy balance of a little bit of everything, and the other side is all Atlases and Awesomes... well, you get the idea. Is this at least being considered in any way, shape, or form?

I had some questions about this soon to be released game, Im sorry if my questions have answers that can be found in other locations on the forum.

1) What had you guys settle on the free to play format of the game, The only reason I ask as that a long time player of not just table top battle tech and every Mech War game that has ever come out as well as the spin offs like Mech Commander, The model seems to be a far cry from the days of going out in to the field making your kills with the best placed shots to salvage the best Equipment you can from your fallen foes as well as building credits to buy that what you can not find. The biggest fear that I have is that like so many other free to play models it seems very easy for someone to just buy all the good stuff right out of the gate never work for any of it and put players that are either unable/unwilling to fork over more and more cash in order to have good equipment and skills ? Whats been done to make this different from other free to play models so that you don't end up out matched every time you enter a game because you were unwilling to pay $150 to get 4 mechs or extra cash or what not. I use the new Tribes or World Of Tanks as good examples because the games are just out right unbalanced and were so right from the start because of the gear someone could just buy with real money. It almost feels like its just made available to just pay extra money so that you can hack your account. Less skill is needed replaced with a fat wallet, vs a even playing field where team work and pilot skill rule the battlefield

2) Are any plans in the works to include any of the many tanks, hover craft and other smaller units that are a part of the battle field in Battle Tech. Its kinda of what made the Mech so key is that they are the knights of the battle field but all the other units have their place, from Infantry, Powered Infantry, Helos, Aero Fighters, are their any plans to have any of the Melee weapons that mechs would carry ? It just seems like for a game being released in 2012 so much has been left out in a universe that is so rich in what can be added was a part of older versions of the game

My questions which have probably already been asked and i've missed the answers are.

Will it be possible to paint the mechs in a camo or custom paint job and add merc unit insignia's?

Will there be Double heat sinks ?

Will there be LAMS in the pipline?

Will it be possible to eject out of and or detonate your fusion reactor for AoE damage ?

Hi salvag3,

Good questions, I just have to add my 2 pence on one thing. If the maps are not very large I really hope we DON'T get aircraft, there is nothing worse than a tiny map with jets eww! :blink:


So bring on the big maps :)

What tools would be available to manage the communities in-game? I mean, player communitites may organise and communicate outside of the game too, but would some sort of rank system be included in the game engine, giving different access/editing rights to different members of the House unit, Merc Corp etc, allowing them to manage the community?

Would it be possible to customise forum Allegiance Icon? Perhaps not with random picture for each player, but with Merc Corp/House Unit symbol for all members of the said unit? And, are custom Mech decals still out of question for some indistinct copyright reason?

How soon would different painting schemes be implemented, or are they already in, but not shown? I'm tired of yellow Catapults and red Atlases even though I'm still pending and only see them in media.

I plan to buy a founders package, though I'll shortly be leaving the country for a 9 month period of time, and will not have an internet connection sufficient to play available within the country I'll be stationed in. Will the months of premium account access automatically start when the came goes live, or will it commence only after the first login?

Are there any plans to support additional flight simulator accessories? An example of this being the use of 3" LCDs (linked below) to off-load some of the screen overlays to a configurable setup. Some support I'd like to see are screen overlays for weapons, radar, target statistics, piloted mech statistics, speed/heat, score board, etc...

Will there be some sort of tutorial for new players?

Will we be able to customize the mechs with the colors of your chosen faction?

Will the Atlas be able to punt the Urbanmech? If so, how far will it fly?

Question:

Will you make different kinds of tutorials? Many of us here haven't played mechwarrior for a while, and some of us need to review our positions. Assault, long range, close range, and such. So, will you have different kinds of tutorials for different roles?

was wondering if their was an eta on when the firepower bar and heat effieciency bar will be active would love to see those functions made active as it would make mech builds much easier keep up the great work guys the game is awesome.

It has been mentioned in the past that team sizes will be adjusted during beta based on performance goals. Has the group size been determined yet? And if so, what will that size be?

I was wondering why no one was doing a VR unit when we actually have the tech to make it work right. :)

When using the keyboard buttons for throttle, will it be possible to set the incremental change for each button press? I've found in other games that precision with that type of thing is more distracting than it is useful so I'd only need 25% faster or slower with each press.

Will there be a "stock mechs only" mode for the matches ? I dearly hope so, since I fear Laserboats / LRMboats and AC20 boats only.

Will the founder's premium time start automatically at launch or will you provide us codes that act like xbox live/MMO time cards?

It would be nice if you provided each month as a code for free premium time that we could use at any time. The veteran would recieve one code they could use anytime they had a lot of free time, the elite two, and the legendary would get three such codes.
