Hi,

I'm very interested in MechWarrior Online, and was wondering if it's worth to purchase one of the founders packages, both to gain immediate access to the game and also thinking in the benefits.

What are your opinions, please? :P

I have no regets about the money I spent. While I can't comment on actual game play, I can say this game in BETA is better than anyother game I currently own.

Just to avoid future rants about stuff - you're not getting early access to the game, you're getting access to a BETA test of the game .. BIG difference! :) So be prepared for that!!

But besides that .. Hell, yes - do it!

Yes its worth the bucks. The game is a fantastic mech experience, if you start with FTP and buy premium accounts later :

a) to reach the same status will be much more expensive
:P you will have to fight 25% more battles to have the same c-bill account
c) you will have to fight in uncool standard mechs
d) you will have to buy the extra mech slots that the founders get for free

my thoughts exactly.. this revival is going to be awesome. past attempts have failed but this one has an unstoppable crew with one goal, helps that Russ and Paul are at the wheel...

I've stopped all other games for this beta, if that tells you anything.

That's WoW, WoT, STO, Blacklight, Crysis, MWLL, hell I don't even touch Minecraft anymore, that's how epic this is.

Any game where you buy power is almost definitely worth spending money on especially if they give away the stuff in bundles. With that said tho, Tribes Ascend took the same type of initiative and they slashed there prices 4 months after launch. So you might want to wait on buying founders for this game, then spend it later and get twice as much stuff, as the game progresses you're going to see larger and larger bundle packages for less and less money. So if you're budget concious wait 3 months or so after launch.

I agree with the posters above, but would say this. It is WELL worth the 30 dollar package if for nothing else than to play the BETA. I started at this price point, and in the past two weeks have upgraded twice!! LOL this game is sweet and has sooooooo much potential its ridiculous. The way i look at it is this, i have spent WAY more than 30 dollars for some absolutely HORRIBLE games. Spending 30 on this one just to test the waters is highly recommended. Then if you want more, you buy more. Enjoy!!

You can't buy "power" in this game. Anything you can buy, you can earn ingame also(well except for early access to the BETA. That chance is gone now). The Founder's Mechs have the same hardpoint systems that the regular mechs have. The only difference between the Founder's mechs and the regular mechs are the amount of C-bills and XP you earn in them, oh and they have a different "paint job".

Thanks for all your opinions. I'm a fan of the series, and the only thing I feel a lack on this title is just a singleplayer campaign. But, I think I'll give it a try. :P

I really want this game to be great, but I am very reluctant with spending money on something before I can see detailed real gameplay information, not just stuff that the developer chooses to release, or possibly try a demo, or read a few reviews first. I did seriously consider buying a founders package for this game, and I respect those that did go that route, but I will not. I'm also a bit reluctant about the only PvP side of things with this game. Is it just going to be like playing a bunch of matches of Counter Strike over and over, but with Mechs, and having to pay to win? I don't know, probably not, but I'm just going to wait for the free to play release and try it out first.

Please no troll comments because I'm voicing my opinion.

Thanks.

If you buy a founders package and get into beta with us, REMEMBER THAT IT IS STILL BETA!

Do not automatically judge something you think is messed up, because it is still in Beta, it's not the final product. (Technically there will never be a final product since new things will be added all the time)

With regards to the founders packs. You get the most bang for your buck with the elite pack. The legendary pack only really contains about $55 worth of extra's. But that being said you could go the legendary and get all the founder mech and their bonus's and not worry about maintaining a premium account.

I think a premium account is about $10 a month. So you could go an elite pack and then get another 6 months of premium account for the price of the legendary pack.

This is all just based on rough maths i used when comparing the packs. So if i have gone wrong somewhere please feel free to correct it.

The packs are only available till the 7th of August. The main points that sold me on the elite pack ($60) is that fact you get a mech and $80 worth of credit in the game.
