Honour is less than worthless. It is used by groups to control social norms, ostracizing people who do not follow the "approved" format or technique. This is done to force conflicts into areas where the "elites" are able to prevent any challenges to themselves. The specific example you cite, people whining about legging, resulted in the loss of an entire dimension of tactics and play as a result.

That said, the concept of a "gentleman's agreement" is another matter entirely. If I'm playing a game with my friends, I usually strive to do what I think would be the most "fun". This is different from the concept of "honour" because this is a totally voluntary restriction on my part; one I do not expect any opponent I have to reciprocate. If I think it would be the most fun to take the game seriously, then I do so. If I think it would be the most fun to goof off and mess around, I do so.

You do know that what some here are calling honor is ostracizing themselves. Honor is simple. You say what you do, You do what you say, You Prove it. over and over and over again. Even when those around you scorn you for doing it. An Honorable Leader has the loyalty of his unit, even if they may not agree with that leaders decisions all the time.

FYI;
Real Honor is also defending a person you despise. I have a CoWorker that is just the biggest backstabber you will ever meet. But when Management was going to write up this person for doing the exact same thing wrong I did, The first thing I said was, "You cannot write up "X" unless you write up me." Funny thing is "X" turned around and said they had to write up me if they were going to write up "X"! :) We both got a suspension for it.

Not to interject, but honor can also be described as standing against a friend who acts in a way against what you know or feel is right. Loyalty does not necessitate honor, nor honor loyalty.

All of these definitions are fantastic, and spot on.

To boil it down, it's doing the RIGHT thing, which right thing is defined by what people generally KNOW is right. This RIGHT is developed from thousands-of-years-old social norms, more's, values and traditions OUTSIDE of the game, which should be considered in all aspects of life.

How does a Vegetable hydration technician settle a matter of honor vs a hydration systems engineer?

Eerily enough, that's quite easy. You give them both base ball bats, first one to knock over more mailboxes wins.

Normally, this would involve the gathering of a conclave of their peers, and each would utilize a data display terminal to illustrate the principles, theories, and mathematical formulea to prove their point. The conclave then determines which has proven their point, and is thus the victor. However, there are times when such a conclave is not accepted by one or more of the claimants or they decide to contest the outcome, or the matter is of a personal nature. In this case the matter must be decided by more stringent means.

The accepted regulations call for each to enter a Circle of Crops to decide the matter, the arrangement of the Circle to be centered upon a span crossing a dry brook. At either end of the brook is a fluid source that is blocked. Upon agreeing to the tools, each attempts to restore the flow unto the brook, with the final determination of victory being made by whomever's hydrosource supply reaches the span first. The matter is thus settled, and becomes water under the bridge.

A less-official means involves intervention by the Warrior Caste to settle the matter, and is usually resultant upon a disagreement in the resolution of the previous methods, or where the victor cannot be determined in that manner. In this case, the warrior authorized to adjucate will issue each of the claimants a hydrodispenary hand weapon, have each pace off ten steps, then turn and fire. The one who shoots the other successfully has proven their skill and is determined the victor.

Finally, many unoffical methods have evolved in colusion with the Scientist and Laborer Castes to resolve such disputes when a Warrior is not present to adjucate. Often termed 'Freestyle Resolution', this often involves the use of such irregular tools as metal-eating mobile grass, excessive pressure-charged fluid lines, and the inputing of the opposite disputant's name upon the Scientist Caste Experimental Volunteer Form 9905. While not officially sanctioned, this last method is not actively discouraged as it does tend to keep things lively in the laboratories.

He cannot realize the problem is him. I wonder if nobody stopped to think that since he left the Ghost Bears I am sure he made posts on the MWO forums. I never looked for them. I never tried to contact him in any way shape or form. What triggered my response is a dezgra like him talking about honor. He has no place discussing such things. As I said before, The individual by his actions or inactions, the words that he speaks & the company he keeps, is what determines honor.

So he CHOOSES to leave the Ghost Bears in support of a dezgra surat thereby making himself marked as a dezgra surat, CHOOSES to team up with the dezgra surat to create a new Clan Diamond Shark even though there was one already. They have a lover's spat, CDS explodes & he gets forced out. And no I do not buy that "we split amicably" ********. The higher ranking officer does not leave in those situations, the subordinate is the one who grumbles & leaves, so please.

He CHOOSES now, instead on reflecting on his **** ups & what is wrong with him, to create a new Hell's Horses because he THINKS the others are dead. Turns out they are not & he gets ripped a new ******* for stealing their banner & logo. Then he asks to be saKhan, gets rejected & now he makes Clan Ghost Wolf. What Clan will he be in next week? He changes Clans with the same frequency we changes clothes. All the while dragging good people with him. How about some responsibility? An honorable person admits his faults, repents & takes action to set himself on a new way of thinking.

This thread has become less of one discussing honor and more of discussing one specific individual's honor. An individual that, by the information being aired here, is not even worth the effort to discuss about in the first place. Seems to me if this discussion was to continue, it should have been made into its own circle of equals thread about 5 pages back.

Good point except it is a Circle of Equals. Dezgra surats do not get that honor.

And the more Clans he creates & drags you with him, the more dishonor he heaps on you all. Crying indicates sadness which I do not feel at all. This is no longer laughable. I pity you all. My reply was directed at Coffinail due to his updated pic. I could care less if you get tired of me speaking the truth.

P.S. And now you are forced to like your own posts. :P

say what you would like jaroth. Those of us that left with krusher are not being dishonored or a surat as you love to use if you had honor you let it go.... be the better person yes it is not laughable any more because you have nothing new to say or cut copy or post again you jaroth where asked honorably to resolve this before the posting/slurring campaign you started so if your leadership cannot or will not tell you I will shut up!!!! Grow up!!!!! and play the game and have fun leave us be if you had honor you would say your peace and be done with it. and not look back as for your leadership in cgb if they are allowing this to continue then maybe they to should be held accountable for your honorable actions of not letting it die?....

Actually I do have something new to say because he created a new Clan. AGAIN. That is the point, hence Coffi's new pic.

If I was not there, how could I be asked? :P :)

What quote did I not get correct? What have I twisted? Seeing as you have not been paying attention, my points have all been facts. Confirmed, accurate, facts. So what nonsense are you talking?

P.S. Let me reiterate, I was replying directly to Coffi because he made the new pic. I do not even know how you got in here, Diamond Shark, Hell's Horses er sorry, Ghost Wolf.
