So, after watching the trailer for the game, and thinking quite a bit, I've been wondering which you think would win in a fight, I think the Warhammer would. Even though it doesn't have alot of armor, the Mad Cat has even less, and that cockpit sticking out in front makes it such an easy target, and if you take out it's rocket pods and arms, you can just walk away and it can't really do anything to stop you. Post which you think would win and why.

I think the timberwolf would win (assuming it was good like MW2-3 and not mw4 bad). But the warhammer wins in mw4 standards imo. Pilot wise the Timberwolf should always win though.

But I love the design of the warhammer and love the mech,,, so I voted warhammer XD

It would depend entirely on whichever one I were piloting.

Looking purely at the mechs themselves, Timber Wolf, hands down. It has greater speed, armor, and firepower at all ranges. Unless something was drastically changed in one of the MW games I didn't play, the Warhammer in no way had more armor than the Timber Wolf. The clan design is FAR superior.

Mad cat, In urban setting more damage per second better alpha strike hide behind a building. In open ground again though tech should actually win out there also more range more hitting power per second with the two lrm pods.

I vote for, whomever the better pilot is.

Both chassis are CAPABLE of greatness, but it is only the pilot, who determines what a Mech is ABLE to do.

Also, we pronounce it "Timberwolf".

Ok I LOL'ed so hard after reading

LOL OK anyways I voted Timberwolf. Mostly due to it has more options than a Warhammer. Don't get my wrong a hammer has some power but a wolf I feel that with missles and Jets not to mention it stands customization more I just feel its got the edge in this match up.

Timber Wolf, the Warhammer is outmatched in every way no matter the variant.

Battlemechs are just tools the same as any weapon in history and all can kill you just the same if the tool is used in the manner it was designed for, the only thing that matters is the mind controling the tool and his/her individual skill, there are too many variables to say which one would win every time just based on stats of the tool, its not the size of your tool but instead how you use it and therefor i cannot vote for either.

Deppens on the Battlefield. On plain wide open terrain the madcat can use its speed and improved range.
BUT in terrain with cover or in the city the Warhammer has a chance.
And Killerbabes-Variantes like the WRH-11T, WRH-10CT or it´s older brother the WRH-7X "Lich"
they simply EAT THE MADCAT ALIVE!

Big whoop, the Timber Wolf E, H and S would still beat those variants.

Sentimental as I am for the Warhammer, the Timber Wolf/MadCat is the superior 'mech. It's the kind of battle that would really depend on the pilot, but all other things being equal, the MadCat has it.

i'd have to say Warhammer for the simple fact that it packs more of a punch then the timber wolf.

Why dont you all come and find out?We play on www.gameranger.com with MW3-MW4mercs Mektek mod look under my profile for the Gameranger online challange link for the mechwarrior games you can play and the setup for the Mektek mod .www.mektek.net has the free Mechwarrior4Mercinaries game you can download if you dont own the retail CD versions.after piloting bolth for a long time i can say eather can win under the right circumstances and alot is dependant on the pilots skills.CBT configs and TT skills are far removed from the real live 1v1 or 8v8 PC game battles we have on gameranger come fight, test have some fun 7 days a week 24/7.You can also host your own servers and restrict and weapons mechs play stock or mission play.

P.S hope to see all of you in the forums online.

A very skilled pilot could use the 2 PPCs on the Warhammer to core or cockpit the Timberwolf pretty quickly, but overall, I think the 5 extra tons, Clan tech, and 40 LRMS that have no minimum locking range would win.

I was thinking the same thing.

CASE, XL engines, double heatsinks, etc REALLY need to come back.

Umm, what?

The Timber Wolf wins as it can match the Warhammer missing both it's arms at range or upclose as the PPCs have a minimum range while the clan LRMs lack that while at the same time having superior speed.

I'm getting the distinct impression that a lot of guys here are going to get slaughtered when the first wave arrives.
