You do realize this arguement dates back to the Star League Era.... and I believe was secretly the deciding factor in Kerensky's exodus. He was an 'atlai' type.

Now, the real question is: Is it pronounced (Atlas is) or (Atla seas)?

Yeah it's actually At-lie, or perhaps At-lay-eye

Atlas ends with "as", not "us", so I still don't understand why it should be Atlai nor Atli. As far as I'm concerned, Atlas is like the word sheep and is already plural.

If you ask me, I still think more than one Atlas should still be called Posers.

I don't know why people are arguing over this. The correct pronunciation is "Lyran scouts" when referring to more than one Atlas. My company definitely knows what I'm saying when I say "Focus fire on the Lyran scouts".

The correct plural is always AWRA for every 'Mech.

Seriously though, I don't think there is a need for a plural at all. Afterall, you're not calling two Mercedes-Benz "Mercedes-Benzes" or "Mercedeses" either.

QFT.

And I'll stick anyway with 'my classic' plural of Atlas: Atlas'
Pronounced the same, just spelled different.

@Fugu: Nice example with the car brands.
