Because IH is too shy to actually quote his own awesome post...

And it was incorporated,
INTO THE GAME.

Actually, had they taken IH's work as litteral inspiration for the in game skin... the shitstorm it caused might have been averted.

<S> Just an update to further show off the *AMAZING* Talent of my friend and fellow Brigadier, Killhunger.

Allow me to start with a quote.

Revelations Chapter 6: Verse 8.
"And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth."

From here, my 'mech's name was drawn. "A Pale Horse" or, Pale Horse as I like to call it.

So, without further delay.

Posted Image

Once again, I had no hand in creating this beyond offering the ideas behind it to Killhunger to add to his original repaint I posted a few pages back. All credit goes to him for the outstanding work.

I hope everyone likes it. This is my ride. The one. The only.

<S> Look for me dirtside. Pale Horse and I will be waiting.

Thanks Bull Frog. The storm is probably due in part to the background that's missing: an actual Solaris map!

EDIT: Solaris is entertaining... This is war though. And the Atlas Hunters were hired to jump in!

I'm consistently impressed by how the AH paint scheme looks.

The fact that the only mech I'm guaranteed to have at launch is the founders version of the 'A' in that makes me nervous.

Had I the money to buy the program, I would be spinning off images left and right. But even then, my skill in such a field is all but lackluster.

Regardless of your lackluster, you always can sharpen your skills on these free software.

http://www.getpaint.net
http://www.gimp.org

Those I would recommend the most as free alternative to Photoshop.
Sure... Photoshop got more tools but these two softwares are on par with PS in term of most common tools that we (me) use often for stuff like this.

What about a free vector software like Adobe Illustrator?
http://inkscape.org
http://www.picroma.com (Picroma might not be free forever and required account sign up, but has been free for awfully long time now and it's a very good software.)

It's never too late to learn and mess around on your own. That's how I did it when I was 9 years old, never took classes for stuff like this.

Thank you, I have GIMP now installed along with Real-Player. All I need now, are tutorials. I hope this is like Photoshop to an extent.

It's as much like photoshop as you'll get in a free/legal program. And yeah, it's pretty close.

Is there a Highlander template or have I missed a really obvious post.......?

Absolutely staggering work by all concerned since I last looked in. I am sans Photoshop until I can save up $600 for CS6 but at that time I'm sure I will return to this thread for more inspiration.

Just bloody awesome :)

This challenge warranted a bit of research. Since Highlander pilots are all heroes by definition, I wanted to give this one a special treatment.

It started with this miniature job for Laurel's Legion by Jalphoenix:
Posted Image

While a fan of a lot of Jalphoenix's miniature work, the paint scheme did not appeal to me that much, so I took some liberties.

Final result of the scheme for MW:O. I re-did the insignia (which I will post in Unit Insignia) and added a few nuances to the red, black, white and silver scheme of the unit. I decided to play with whites using 'L' shapes to reflect the LL initials for the Legion. Hope it's not too messy. The pilot named her rifle 'Risposte' as per the earlier Operation bearing the same name. Enjoy.
