Can you tell us what you will be doing? Not specifics, just generally like insignias or concept art.

If you scroll down you will see a large button that says:
"WE'RE HIRING"
So yes. There are things open.
I saw that a while ago. But they wired you, and not for the network specialists, I suppose, that had open positions until now.
Looks like you are being hired to work with the textures/camos (at least you are very good with this).
Anyway, I wasn't really serious when I asked you about work in Piranha, which is 7000 miles from my town. 10 years ago, sure, right away. But now, with my own house, wife, kid and 8 cats... it's complicated. (though I will always dream to work in a great game developer house)

I can't thank you enough for bravely starting this thread, and sharing your art. I can't thank you enough, either, for inspiring me to be artistically creative again after years of stagnation. I look forward with some trepidation to posting my own repainted creations here in the near future. That wouldn't be so without people like you and the other lovely posters here not only displaying their own works, but kindly assisting others to take steps in doing the same.
Congratulations, and thank you, again. Even if you may be restricted from posting art here, I look forward to seeing your work in whatever form it comes in next.

Earlier in the thread, Hayden made a good post here: http://mwomercs.com/...4774#entry34774 giving details on how to do it in Photoshop CS5. While it doesn't perfectly translate to GIMP, alot of the terminology of mechanics of it are similar, and I still found it helpful.
I don't consider myself competent enough right now to really put any sort of guide together, especially as I'm still figuring it out.
The best advice I can give, at least, is to experiment.

When I started with this repaint thread I never expected it to become as popular as it has. In fact, I can still remember the fear and self-loathing I felt as I put the finishing touches on that very first (very hideous) Marik Militia Atlas that I cranked out so long ago. It was a fear of failure that almost aborted this endeavor before it had even stated.
Quite contrary to my fears, I was shocked with the overwhelmingly positive response (positive enough to lead me to do about 260 more "repaints"). Over time, and with huge thanks to the contributions of a number of brave and artistic minds this thread has taken on a life of its own. Yeah, I got the ball rolling: but the community has kept the momentum. It has become, to my knowledge, the most viewed thread on the forum, and has a number of artistic contributions probably numbering in the thousands and growing.
How things have grown from the little seed planted a year ago.
And I think this is a good time to make an announcement:
I will no longer be posting art here as my new boss Dennis de Koning has forbidden me from releasing any concept art to the public.
Wow so great Hayden! Well deserved! You have inspired so much Kick-bootyness here. I'm very happy for you.

The first is literally my first attempt at a repaint (with my favorite mech, of course!). It took me a good while, going from draft to draft to scrap, and the like, but I'm decently happy with it. Of course I'll probably come back in the future and take another go at it.
The second is a repaint for my girlfriend, who supplied the basic colors, and model choice. It's not really meant to be a Wolf's Dragoon mech, but the insignia grabbed me as fitting (and spared me spending hours designing an isnignia like I did for the first ).
Third up is my first actual canon-based unit repaint; a Blackjack for the 1st Aragon Borderers. I'm pretty happy with it, even if I'm still trying to get down how to fenagle the silly isignia to line up well (let alone blend in properly).
Thank you again to everyone who's posted their own work on here, and made it possible for me to do this.
Edit: Feeling creative, I decided to continue alphabetically through the list of Federated Suns units I'd been browsing to find the 1st Aragon Borderers. As such, I give you a 1st Argyle Lancers Cataphract! I feel much happier now with the insignia placement, plus the extra bit of challenge from what I'd thought would be a simple paint scheme.
Edit again!: Continuing my alphabetical roll through the ranks of the Federated Suns brings me to the an Awesome from the 1st (seeing a pattern here) Capellan Dragoons. The insignia options here were lacking, so I tried hobbling something together. Still needs work, but not too bad with that aside.
Edit: As I'm on quite the roll today, another in my alphebetical line of Federated Suns repaints. This Commando is from the 1st Federated Suns Armored Cavalry (and my first unit repaint for a group that will survive for a while! I blame the alphabet). I'm rather pleased to have been able to fit that symbol onto its shoulder, hehe.
Edit: Next in the alphabetical shenanigans is a Centurion for the 1st Kathil Uhlans. I approached this one with some trepidation as there was no canon insignia I could find for the unit, but managed to put together something I'm quite happy with, in the end.
