Second piece today: an 8th Syrtis Fusiliers. Gave a try at some nose art on this one...

After looking at this, I'm ashamed of posting my Blackjack here.

This Blackjack is a homenage to the "Valkyrie" fighters of Macross. The "Atlas skull pirate flag" is the symbol of my Merc Corp (VORPAL Inc.). The jet effect is from the Spider and the mech pose is inspired in the Ironhawk's Cataphract.

There is still a lot of work to do here. I need to add lots of decals, kill marks, texts, a nose art and maybe replace the AC/2 by other weapon (or make another Blackjack variant altogether).

They employ the same colors, but they do so in camouflage kind of way. Odanan's Blackjack doesn' have anything remotely connected to a millitary camo.

Good to see this piece progress like that, Odanan. IMHO, there should be at least 4 exhausts to these JJ's, including each leg and the back for balance. No biggy though some airforce or navy savvy folks may notice the decal underneath your laser is usually for ejection seats. The fx are uber-cool and you've done a very nice job with that foot.

Another 'Mech is out of the IH paint shop... Felt like this dude needed a lance mate. For this 2nd Ceti, I tried another approach for that medium laser pre-fire effect. Credit goes to Hayden for the excellent job on that 2nd Ceti insignia.

Thank you. That's an excellent job (as usual!) on your Blackjacks, too. Those textures are incredible.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of your progress on your Blackjack as well, Odanan. It looks wonderful so far.

I just finished a reworking of one of my earlier pieces for the 1st Capellan Dragoons, and I'm pretty happy with it (especially with figuring how to get the silly logos to place better).

Well I installed GIMP for the first time, thought I'd give it a go. I feel silly posting mine amongst the great works in here, but here we go:

If you can't tell, I have no idea how to get rid of decals cleanly via being a noob at this.

We all started somewhere (look at my Raven).

I liked it! But there is something wrong with the red/wine painting - we can barely see the black outlines.

Thanks! I'm not sure what happened, the lines were much more defined before I exported it. I'll probably crank back the darkness on it and hopefully it'll come out cleaner.

Wanted to do a 3rd Crucis Lancer for Remembrance Day. 3rd Lancers have such a long history... I assumed this Blackjack participated to several important encounters, with key worlds listed under the Davion insignia on its right leg. Had a good time working on this one. Hope you enjoy...
