I call it the "Limpet Lover" (You know, like someone with a fondness for the parasitic Blood Limpets of Prosperpina~)

Fantastic! Absolutely love it! And I love the little touches, like the "Limpet Lover" on the arm. Also think it was a good call to move the DC insignia from the leg and up to the front of the chest, as well as making it the classic black and red rather than gray. Makes it easier to spot. Gotta show that DC pride after all.

If I can eventually get a paintscheme similar to this in the game I'll be a happy, happy Drac. :)

Ha! What a glorious return of mr. Hayden into his own thread, sweet Panthers))
I can't wait for Grasshoper & Zeus repaints. There is something in those two what makes me consider going to solahma to pilot them, lol

Well, until it wasn't some kind of sarcasm I didn't understand, you should have confused me with someone else, mate. My GIMP skills are average at the very best, so I am not a person to give advices in this thread.

?

Um, I'm posting in this section because it's full of people doing paints and templates. Nothing more. I was posting on my phone and apparently quoted you by accident.

Yeah... that white is not good. Sometimes I have a lot of difficulty to get the white color too. Usually I end up working with a light grey.

Most whites in video games are tinged with blue to make it so it can have lighter shades. Just to let you guys know, it can be applied here too.

We have to wait till February to see the Panther model...
Why?

Because it's not done? They have to make the Clan Wave II first and the king Crab.

most of the processes have an equivalent in PS. If you got any advice there, I may be able to translate it.

Well, generally my process is to use some kind of selection tool (generally polygon lasso, though this can vary) to separate the 'mech from the backdrop. I then set about removing any decorative features (like all the logos on the Panther), and generally trying to give the surface of the "skin" a fairly uniform appearance. I use the healing brush tool a fair amount (I used to do this all by hand, which greatly increased the time it took to make a template). For removing stripes I usually first make the paintable surface grayscale (which generally lessens the variation in color, and can sometimes negate it totally). I then use various selection tools to highlight the "stripe" area, and cut it out; I adjust the coloration of the cut by using the levels or hue/saturation tools. I then merge it back to the main level which I cut it from. From there I generally use the healing brush tool to smooth out the little lines. Sometimes I'll "graft" clearer segments from other parts of the 'mech. Basically... I do a lot of grafting, and healing bushing ;)

Anyway, have a Panther. 16th Galedon. (Ed: As an aside, the color scheme is not 100% Accurate. The 16th scheme features no blue coloration, and the white portions would normally be striped. The skin is instead meant to represent what a "generic" Galedon Regulars skin could look like, using colors described as being used by the various regiments which make up the Galedon Regulars)

OK, so I am tweaking things with the best equivalents. How does one take it from this (in PS) to the "Matte" look of Ironhawk and Odanans templates?

Unfortunately, it's better to ask Odanan and IH. I'm pretty set in my ways ;)
