Ok, last of the Shadow Cats for now. Going to start in on the final draft of the template, and once that's posted I'll start on a template for the arctic cheetah.

So since I am just learning how to do these repaints, what exactly is a "template"? Just a cleaned version without coloration?

Cleaned version, no coloration, and a fairly self-explanatory coloring process. Basically just stick clipping layers to the "multi white" layer and apply any colors or details there.

That is essentially what I do, I think. I use masks, not clipping layers, but I think they are basically the same thing?

there are also some filters to "cartoon" the background, or blur it, to make it look less of a contrast.

I'm looking at the gargoyle and it just struck me that if the cave troll from fellowship of the rings, and a rock em sock em robot had a baby, that would be it.

Eh, after considering it, I honestly I doubt I'll get around to doing one. I don't really have a lot of motivation to get set up for that kind of thing. The actual Photoshop work alone can take a few hours, and then editing it down into a concise, narrated production would take additional time that I'm not willing to invest at this point.

One of the threads in the General Discussion section mentioned a rumour about the Black Knight and Mauler being done and ready. Are they thinking of the asset art version someone on here did, or is there actual artwork floating out there?

I've heard that in reference to the Mauler, but never the Black Knight. I'm pretty sure it was referring to basic modeling work.
