Woke up early and got to work on it. Paint tool Sai isnt calibrating my pen right so i rigged it to work in my favor.

So I am confused here, isn't there only like one or two variants of the Kodiak in the current timeline?
Do they intend on doing a time jump?

In timeline, you're right. It's limited. Fortunately a lot of the variants, even beyond timeline, use purely current tech. They will probably need to invent a variant, however.

They will invent some variants. Done that before (Enforcer, IIC mechs, etc.)

Well, judging by the store page, they seem to be doing totem 'Mechs this time. The Hellhound, aka Clan Wolverine's totem 'Mech, would seem a good choice...

I'm guessing the Turkina is a likely candidate, being of the right timeframe (at least if you consider the Wolfhound - we seem to have progressed to 3052) and a totem of one of the 4 current clans. After that... maybe the Black Lanner? Though that would give the Falcons two totems. The Timber Wolf and Dire Wolf are already in game for Clan Wolf, as is the Shadow Cat of the Nova Cats and the Ebon Jaguar for Clan Smoke Jaguar. Maybe the Stone Rhino, noted to be commonly used by Smoke Jaguar?

Well thought! But will they make the Hellhound (MW4's) or the Conjurer? I know the MW4's Hellhound is gorgeous and probably the best mech design in that game, but it looks nothing like a Wolverine IIC as it should. Looks more like the Black Lanner.

Reading the transcription, it was wrote the next standalone mech would be IS, but hearing the Townhall, I had the impression Russ didn't say if it was Clan of IS.

I would love to see the Black Lanner (or the Turkina) released in a "Totem" Pack. So much potential for a cool JF camo, like this or this. (best repaints ever!)

I play IS, but I'm really looking forward for the next Clan mechs.

PS: Arctic Cheetah could be considered another Smoke Jaguar totem mech.

I hate how diluted "totem mechs" became as a concept. Totem Mechs should be like the "falcon" themed Jade Falcon Mechs. The Kodiak, the Thunder Stallion maybe, stuff with stylistic "totem" elements.

Instead it's almost interchangeable with "faction" mechs. Why not call the Vindicator as House Liao's totem mech?

The Vindy is a signature mech.

Totems must have that animal feeling.
Wild thing.
Pet stuff.

and aside from an animal name (which almost all clan mechs have) what is so animal abou tMetoid Mech? (or the box,with shoulder boxes, if we go by TT....)

because again, aside from "by name" over half of those so called totem mechs fail utterly.

Heck, the fluff for the Thunder Stallion actually says "was originally planned as a totem ´Mech, along the lines of the Mandrill or Fire Scorpion. Upon learning of the less-than-ideal performance of those ´Mechs, Clan Hell´s Horses de-emphasized the totem aspect in favor of more combat effectiveness" and yet still gets called a Totem Mech?

Which says either Classic Battletech, or Sarna, really has no clue when it comes to totem mechs.
