eh, I only have light from 730 am to 730 pm here, pretty much year round. I live south of the Tropic of Cancer though. That said, IDK, winter just meant indoors, watching football, so plenty of time for art for me. Down here..IDK what I will do.

You guys should host a community contest where people create either new patterns or redesign mechs and then put the best into the game (after getting spruced up by PGi's staff of course)

Then he would let you of your box more often.

Well, I set out to do a set of the four main Project Phoenix 'Mechs, but it's getting late, so you'll have to wait for the BattleMaster. Thanks to Ironhawk, Jack Gallows and IqfishLP for the templates, and to Hayden for the insignia.

First up, a 2nd Regulan Hussars Locust.

Methinks the problem is, PGI release the mechs before they released the concept art.

Well done with the Donegal BLR, good choices on the knots. I tried it out with an Atlas before and its pretty tricky.

What about the standard concept art for the rest of the reseen 6? We only got Locust and while those plain green ones from Google Plus are easier to make a template for, their general quality is worse than in the normal releases, if you don't have an account there, getting to them is impossible and we don't even have that stuff for Griffin and Wolverine, yet. :)

Could we at least get those, please?

Well done Sparks! I hope my bad Template did not limit your awesome skills! By the way, how did you do that Police Catapult? Was that lighting made in-engine?

In this case, yes. The same way it's prevented me from sharing anything for the past year. Decisions to release internal documents (which even art is) rests above my station.

I'm looking into it now.

EDIT: Update! I asked around, and it seems that the people I would need to talk to are not in right now. So I'll have to try again later.

The model is in 3DS Max 2013, and two photometric lights have been placed in the light bar, then animated to fade up and down. I then rendered out a 15 image sequence with mental ray and assembled it as a gif in Photoshop.

Hayden, I know this isn't really the right thread, but is there any way we can get some higher mech texture resolutions in game? Either as an additional download or just as part of the quality toggle? I love the texture work, but looking at like the back of the atlas in 3pv you can see the stretching and image compression really bad.

Currently the most egregious examples of the problems are the mechs where you can see part of the mech geometry from the cockpit. (Hunchback, Thunderbolt with the large LT missle pod x2 etc)
