Hey, I'm an old school Capellan. I brought this fine piece of Capellan craftsmanship with me when I left for Northwind. Seems only fitting that I should run a good old Capellan Mech.

In GIMP, is there any way to make it so it only colors over sections that are not transparent?

The Tikonov line probably didn't begin retooling for the 3D when the 100+ jumpships carrying all eight Crucis Lancers regiments appeared overhead. And I guarantee that the Davions did not capture a single D3.

The 3D is the Davion variant they produce... geesh.

Mayoconnor has 1X variant (Capellan prototype), which is then outfitted with level 2 tech and produced in CC once 3050 hits (and seeing a 3050 varaint of Cicada, it may as well be in).

I know the 3D is the Davion variant that is produced in 3050. What I was saying is that the Davions also captured a lot of Cataphracts, and that assembly lines take time to retool; that the Tikonov Factories may have taken months or years to retool for the 3D

Not quite what I wanted... Maybe I didn't explain well enough...
I need a tool that only recolors the mech that is currently there. There are several (Very helpful) layers that have only the mech colored in, but there's a lot of transparent junk outside it that I don't want to color in. How can I do that without having to recolor it pixel by pixel?

Okay, you're looking to have paint on certain sections and not on others, then. You need to remove areas within the paint-layer with some manner of subtraction lasso tool. It doesn't have to be done pixel-by-pixel, but close depending on the size of the area you're trying to remove from the mask.

She was the 1X till I could get her upgraded to the 3050 version.

CTF-3L - An upgraded version of the Cataphract that follows more in line with the prototype 1X model, the 3L variant is propelled by an XL Engine with MASC which allows it to move at speeds up to 86.4 km/h in short bursts. The 'Mech is armed with an LB-X Autocannon/10 as its primary weapon which is matched with an ER PPC for powerful striking capabilities at long range. The 'Mech is also armed with four Medium Pulse Lasers for close combat. This design was produced by the Confederation at Grand Base following the ascension of Chancellor Romano Liao.

No Gauss template yet though but the Atlas has the Ac20 that would look good, and there is the 3 titanium claws.

I'm using GIMP 2.6 (under Windows 7, should be pretty similar for Linux/Mac users) and found the easier way is to do the following:

1) Right click on one of the other layers with just the mech coloured in. 'white soft' or 'white multi', for example.
2) Select "Alpha to selection" - Your selection is now set to the alpha channel of that layer.
3) Right click your colour layer
4) Select "Add layer mask"
5) In the dialogue box that pops up, choose "Selection" then hit the "Add" button - Your colour layer now has a black and white layer mask attached to it, in the shape of the mech.

You can then "paint" black or white on the layer mask to add or remove colour from various parts of the mech as well.

The one on the picture is Liao, the one in the story is Davion....

My point was that both St.Ives and Northwind Highlanders are working for Davions now and as such should have very limited access to our variant shown in the picture. Seriously, only maxoconnor knows what I'm talking about?
