I know. Odd how they all seem to just cut short.
Example: "Oi! Come git sum you filthy tra...*static* Arrrrgh! *more static*"

I guess it is not all that unexpected given the average spheroid's tendency towards contractions.

/Merf - Abandon all hope.

I got this to say BRING IT. cause you are going to need everything you got to stand a chance.

Holding open tournaments and giving official names to the winners seems to be the best and fairest way to do it, it both limits the number of names to a reasonable amount and keeps the names among the strongest players (which makes sense) without locking new people out of them because they were not first to grab them

As the Developers allready told us in one of the last intervies, there will be Tournaments on Solaris VII as a possibility to earn personal Honor (and maybe more) for the Mechwarriors of the Inner Sphere...

so it seems to me as a matter of course that the Clans will also have their own intern Playground to earn Honor (and maybe more).

If I were a Clanner, the possibility to fight for a bloodname would be the most important aspect of gaming...

---

besides; in the Inner Sphere we organize our rankings internal in the commanding structure of our Units.

Every Mechwarrior is a Leftenant... every Lance Leader is a Captain and higher rankings just cause more responsibility.

In the european MW4 League "BuE 3062" I was Commanding Officer of 32 men, that`s 7 Lances, so nearly 1 Batallion... We had a Colonel and a Leftenant Colonel as Webmaster/Leader etc. and a few Majors, some Captains and many Leftenants... it worked very well.

What I want to say; a bloodname is not just a cool bonus... it`s also requested for a leading position.

No Clanner will follow a Leader who owns no bloodname... right?

Not true. A mechwarrior in a Star, might have won his/her Bloodname but the Star Commander might not have. You still have to follow the chain of command. The highest you can go without a Bloodname is Star Colonel IIRC.

P.S. Sorry for the late reply, but I had not followed up on this thread for a long time. Apologies.

Actually, Clanners always have a "last name". Before they get a Bloodname(if ever)their "last name" is effectively the name of their Clan. for instance I would be Phelan Wolf. However, I believe that PGI can effectively make a system that will work for us.

no, phelan wolf got his surname because he was inducted into the warrior caste from being a bondsman, ranna was not ranna wolf, she was ranna of clan wolf.
