Very cool....... But, have you seen your forum title? :) How long has it been that, I just noticed.

About 2-3 days, I think. I earned the title after giving Paul a good burn. Unwittingly (due to his French-Canadian heritage, it would seem), his choice of wording ("Wet Noodle") ensured that I could never be counter-burned, because you cannot burn a wet noodle!

An Urbanmech is a tool, like all other mechs, it is a tool of death.

Yes. It brings swift death to the unlucky pilot inside.

Hmm... In WWII the M4 Sherman tank was called the "Tommy cooker" by the Germans due to it's propensity to catch fire after a hit. Examples from other wars come vaguely to mind as well.

Will be interesting to see if any 'Mechs in game get similar monikers pinned on them by us, the gamers.

I see. But won't you eventually evaporate? Or shrivel up into dried up noodle?

I'm not sure. When it comes to culinary sciences, I've always told people that my skills are tantamount to excellence in ala flambe.

But that's just because I seem to burn everything to a crisp.

Okay, so I need a mini-fridge in my 'mech cockpit now. And a beer-holder/straw arrangement on my neurohelmet. DRUNKEN SCOUTING FTW!

The correct tank you are talking about is the Cromwell, as Tommy refers to British, not American

Wikipedia is not always correct but Shermans were provided to English tank crews as well as Polish.

"The Sherman gained grim nicknames like "Tommycooker" (by the Germans, who referred to British soldiers as "Tommies"; a tommy cooker was a World War I era trench stove). The British took to calling it the "Ronson", the cigarette lighter which had the slogan "Lights up the first time, every time!" Polish tankers referred to it as "The Burning Grave"

I have burnt Kraft Dinner (PGI and Canadians know what I mean, ohhh yeeaahh) Noodles to the bottom of the pan while they were cooking in the pot... boiling, so you know they were wet. Pretty sure them molding themselves to the bottom of the pot is close to burning them ;)

But... if a noodle forever remains wet, how does fire get to burning it? I am the PERSISTENT wet noodle! Sure, in real world, once the water evaporates from prolonged heat, the noodle begins to burn.

No, sir! Until you have Mr. Wizard (RIP) or Bill Nye the Science Guy disprove the your "Hydrated Enriched Flour Product Ignition Theory", then I must say GOOD DAY to you!

/technobabble
The ambient heat carbonizes the interior of the starchy foodstuff, with the equation of, aw, nevermind.
/technobabble
It burns it from the inside out. Chewy on the outside, crunchy on the inside!
