^^This... gives a nice idea of today's economic realities, methinks. You would pay someone to allow him to work for him? Maybe it's me, but that sounds wrong in many ways.

Sure, I could envision myself to work for PGI in one capacity or another eventually, like many probably on these boards could, but seriously, what impression of the "workforce" you have to offer will you leave, if you actually offer to pay yourself for your work? :P

And yeah, back to the topic at hand, we don't actually know what exactly they tested. Everybody just assumes it was a "field test" with Mechs slugging it out with more or less full functionality. Could as well be a test of a RNG, so what they basically played was a BT TT match with computer assistance. :)

We're turning the table for payback. Until the day we get the pictures, or video they pretended to post, we will add: "P.S. Trolololo..." to all our posts to troll them. Funny callsigns, etc. are a good thing to practice, too.

*muhahaha...* :)

P.S. Trolololo...

So from what I can tell by the posts it seems the play test went well..

Any idea when Closed Alpha/Beta will begin to debug the MP code..?

I know I am not an employee.. and I don't like to beg.. But I'll pay for you to hire me

Did I mention I have experience, am on a 35 MPS/35 MPS fiber optic FiOS connection here in VIrginia

In all seriousness though, how well did it go..?

Was Paul being "qued" a code problem or a too many people in the game problem ? Or was it simply he was banned for being a Major Fail when it came to playing.. CUrious minds what to know.

Impressive Network (I get 20Mbps/3Mbps here) but I think it would be more beneficial for PGI to distribute the game onto a wide variety of PC hardware (if doing a closed Beta) This would allow them to get wider, varied feedback, but the people playing the Beta would need to realize that the purpose of the beta would primarily be to test out the code; so they need to be mindful of bugs, glitches, cheats, etc. to be reported back and cleaned before the final product goes live.

@Sarajevo-
I memorized the YouTube ID of RickRolls. Gotta say, it's sad to see that your first post in this forum, and you've given yourself a reputation of being a (radio edit) in a single post.

Sarajevo "Rick-Rolled" (umm...sorry dont know your last name).

So everytime we play this video, does Paul stand up and put his hand on over his heart and sing along?

Agreed. If/When a larger beta test goes live it should focus on balance and the game running on varied hardware. Connection speed means nothing. Any i diot (Like me) can purchase a decent connection.

But no worries here, PGI knows what they are doing.

while I agree with you mostly not everyone can get a decent connection - we in Australia have decent speeds if you are willing to pay for it but that is only as good as in Australia - if you want to play on servers in the US or Europe then than slows down a bit with a higher ping rate. I am hoping they will get at least one of more beta testers from here in Australia to make sure the ping is ok for playing

That's one of the reasons I started working for Compuserve in the mid 90s, so I could avoid paying $3 an hour connection fees. Having a free tech support account saved me tons. Too bad MPBT wasnt on CServe but was on GEnie.

*Groan* Why Paul? Why do you have to torture us? I've had to play MW4 for about 7 years now, and I'm ready for some sort of beta for MWO.

Just got it actually FiOS only started offering 35/35 a few months ago.. was on a 25/15 plan before that..

That said this is what I got as a test from Verizon local : 29.31 D / 24.95 UP and testing to Vancouver : 30.51 D / 7.94 UP

Anyway, as for people needing to realize the purpose of testing.. that is so true. Often in a Closed Alpha or Beta you get the guys bitc*ing because this or that doesnt work. That or they qued too long or they had problems logging in or staying properly coenncted, etc.... etc.. etc..

In Alpha and even Beta testing (especially closed) it should be understood to be what they are.. developmental testing. They are far from the final protect and you are there to not just have fun (although its great if you can have fun obviously) but also to break the code.. you WANT to cause the program to fail, you want to find hic-cups ESPECAILLY ones your can replicate.. thats how you find the problems before the game goes live to those that expect it to be perfect and bug free.

Over the years I have been in a number of closed Beta tests, and a few Alphas. It usually helped that I would have about the top of the line (for the day) hardware, the best available (at the time for the average user - I.E. ISDN but not a T1 or DSL when it came out but not a T3 line..) network partly because I am and was a geek, but also because I am a mechanical engineer and my CAD software needs to be top of the line to run the software and create the models I do..

That said I know I have NEVER been more excited to see a new game come out. Closest to being this excited for a new game was possibly ST:O and while OK was kind of a let down. Before that HL2, and before that probably MW4. I am probably far from unique in that aspect, especailly when it comes to hard core MW fans. From what I can tell we aren't your typical 10-28 year old gamers. We are the "First generation" gamers, the ones that cut our teeth on IP gaming on Quake and the like. We were PC gaming before the consoles even could consider to be competitive to the latest PC. Kind of comes with the territory since its been so long since a good MW game has been out there.
