Heh. Easy. They just need CGL to collaborate and pop a shared launch of pdf, TRO3050:MWO or something. Gives Mechs that they cannot add due to the limit viability.

Updates made to the Original Post.

-Amendment (6/18/14) Currently Clan Battlemechs are only available to those who purchase the aforementioned link, for more information click on the link. As far as community warfare "gameplay" goes, I do not have information on this other than what has already been posted in regards to CW.

-Amendment (6/18/14) This is a link (They're Here) to a very nice hype/lore thread devoted to the Clans, created by Koniving (a very helpful member of the community)

The current Clan Battlemechs that are available for early purchase are as follows, in order of tonnage high -low. Note I have listed them Clanname/Innsphere name, they are not two different mechs
  • Direwolf/Daishi - 100 Tons
  • Warhawk/Masakari - 85 Tons
  • Timberwolf/MadCat - 75 Tons
  • Summoner/Thor - 70 Tons
  • Stormcrow/Ryoken - 55 Tons
  • Nova/Blackhawk - 50 Tons
  • Adder/Puma - 35 Tons
  • Kit Fox/ Uller - 30 Tons

i have suggestions for additions to the FAQ on page 1 (which needs to be updated anyway since a lot of the info there is old). note that "they might add it in a future patch " is a possible answer

* can i buy clan weapons/mechs with c-bills?
* can i mount clan tech on IS mechs and vice versa?
* if clan mechs are so great should people just stop using IS mechs and tech? i.e. how is it balanced
* any link to a list of stats for clan tech/mechs?

in regards to this point, The clan mechs aren't "super overpowered", you can kill them just like they can kill you. A good pilot can overcome a clan mechs technology advantage. All of their firepower doesn't mean crap if the person in the pilot seat is a bad pilot. Another point or two would be, as outlined in some of the links at the bottom of the first post are, that clan mechs cannot change engines, remove jumpjets, or for that matter remove heatsinks that are locked into the mechs structure.

IS mechs have more freedom of upgrades, but locked hard points. Clan mechs have locked options aside from Artemis, but almost free reign with regards to hard points.

IS weapons when they are weaker fire faster. Hell, when IS weapons are equal they fire faster. Clan energy weapons are hotter, and both lasers and uac fire in a damage over time mechanic. Hopefully soon the IS will use burst AC, but for balance I would still give them a slight FLD edge somehow.

So IS carry faster firing guns that run cooler. Clans carry more guns that hit harder, but take longer to fire and generate much more heat.
