I am not one but plz don't rush the creators, i don't want a lame game. Still, on the topic, at this point in time the clan tech is not finalized and it might or might not kill out IS stuff...

Clan is one thing, but clans is another. Clan is a general term for the invaders of the inner sphere. Clans are a team and/or section of clan, including the Wolfhounds, from MW4 mercs.

mmmm I hope they add Clan type Mech someday and I mean the strong ones like Dire Wolf, War Hawk or Kodiak, or good small ones like the Storm crow (cause the Mad dog was a piece of junk), since I play MW2 I dislike the Mad cat name, to me always will be Timber Wolf.

Meanwhile we have to settle with the Inner Sphere ones.

It's a nice thread, but what should really be included is the information that OmniMechs aren't fully customizable, you can't replace the engine, some heat sinks, internal structure, armor and so forth. Basically - can't open the torso. That's the main battlefield drawback of OmniMechs, not "costs".

Every mech game so far got it wrong and OmniMechs were basically SuperMechs, with all the advantages and none of the drawbacks.

That one is even further down the timeline than the Timberwolf

The clans made the Timberwolf in 2945, but seeing as we aren't clanners and wont see them until 3050, no Timberwolf for us.

The Mad Cat MKII wasn't made until 3066

So assuming they stick with the 1:1 time ratio, you wont see the MKII for another 16 years, since its currently only 3049. Again though thats assuming there wont be any time cuts to get more content into the game.

oh yes.... timber wolf.. the most iconic battlemech. it always reminds me of the time when i first saw them on the mechwarrior 2 intro video back in 1995/96.

That game... Mech Warrior 2 was iconic to me with it's Summoner, Rifleman, Timberwolf, Kitfox etc...

Since hearing about the reboot of the Mechwarrior series, after it's liberation from M$, I reinstalled Mechwarrior 2 and Ghost Bear Legacy. Even though it looks worse than the intro video does by today standards, it was still exceptionally fun to play.

The exciting moments when you meet another clan, the honourable code of conduct and the extensive lore behind it all really was both enjoyable and fascinating to re-live.

So, I'm very pleased for the original post which clears up instantly a few questions I had. I'm looking forward to seeing this game evolve over the years and be a part of it, even if life becomes too busy for me to play it i'll tune in

I hope that there's a means to future proof the game with bolt on features so that it can continue for the number of years it will take to do.

;)

Really enjoyed reading through this topic. We all have our personal mech favorites and a Mad Cat has always been one I've enjoyed playing over the years. Looking forward to when this is finally in the game and playable.

The Kerensky Cluster and Periphery.
The Wolf's Dragoons have also built a few in secret at Outreach, but they are allready reserved for certain people.

Founder member, love the game so far. How high on the priority list is adding new mechs? And is the madcat an eventuality? Want to pilot that so bad.

Mech's are a constant priority, we will be adding them at regular intervals. We also hope to increase the pace at which we introduce battlemechs very soon now that were in Open Beta. The Madcat... it is coming !
