I recently started playing and in the space of a week clocked about 20hours. I'm really enjoying it obviously ;)

The only problem is I live in Australia and as far as I can tell there is no frequently populated servers located here.

HPGRelay is an australian server, its has its moments in terms of population, i can also recommend the outreach teamspeak as a place to find NZ and Aus players

In MWLL you should allways know where your team is. Never go alone.
LT is evil but only when you are not moving and got active radar. So just move a bit and
turn your rador off until the LT is gone (or you want to use your LRM on the upcomming NARC).
It's combined arms. A LT can be killed very quick by Aeros or get a NARC by a VTOL or fast Mech like the Raven.

So stick together and use tactics to kill the enemy team. If they use Aeros get a AA-Tank.
If they got LT or a lot of MissileBoats move, turn off your radar and get some NARC
or Aero to kill them.
Speak with the Team that they know you're going to NARC so there will be LRMs in the sky.
-> You will have a lot of fun

Weapongroups do save and load properly for me. And I didn't even need to correct
the key although I use steam.

This is why people hate this mod, sometimes. There 20 more that love it despite the way this mod gets played. It is not always this boring, but some people never try anything but the easiest thing, and that is just human nature.

Quote

I played it for a while, but eventually stopped because of the following reasons:

1. Crysis Wars' CryENGINE2 is painful on large maps such as the maps in MWLL
2. The fact it's a mod means the devs of MWLL can't really benefit from proper vehicle physics. The track vehicles and air vehicles feel HORRIBLE to control, and there's nothing better the devs can do about it.
3. The project has been stalling a lot lately, and I don't feel like it's getting any closer to a full release. I got tired of waiting.

Other than that, the game is very nice... Just wish I had a better PC to be able to run it at high resolutions.

Not really true, the tanks are beasts now, and drive a lot better too. They don't seem to be stalling, so much as refining on the base that has been built so far.

If you have to play on low, I feel for you, but really the higher settings aren't the bee's knee's either, if you ask me, medium settings look good enough. Try using the Cuban Crysis Config switcher to get better looks and performance.

I still have fun with it after all these years, people that used to play but quit a while back should keep their eyes on it, I think some fun stuff is right around the corner.

You will get bored of those "other games", eventually. ;) :D

Been with MWLL since 0.1.0.
I liked it BETTER in 0.1.0 too.
Nobody took my Partivan with quad AC5's serious. And i killed them left and right.
I could cut the legs out from under heavies and i headshotted many an atlas ^^

The ability to actually exit your mech and run around in battle armour is a huge advance in the BT Franchise.

I'd recommend it to any BT fan.

A list of its active clans, and a link to MWLL is available at

Would you be able to edit the Ghost Bear's URL redirect? It is now GhostBear304.enjin.com. Sending as a PM too

MW:LL's mechlab is coming out in a future patch.

Anyway MW:LL is crazy fun with just the stock variants. It's well balanced and depends more on skill than on getting the best build like in MW4. Not to say that skill doesn't factor into it, but building your mech wrong in MW4 will cripple you just as surely as playing badly will do. In actual fact you are probably more limited with their mechlab than you are without a mechlab in MW:LL just because so many of the weapons are NOT worth the equipment slots...

Honestly I think MW:LL is the best MechWarrior experience out there right now.

That's just my personal opinion and I fully understand that some people feel intimidated by having to use stock variants that may not perfectly fit with their play style.

I like the preset variants. For the most part they are balanced well and make people think about using multiple weapon systems together instead of "ZOMG 9 medium laser alpha strike". The LRM arc deal threw me off at first but after playing a while it actually makes sense since you have SRMs and MRMs for direct fire. LT Guass rifles, especially paired, are nice anti-poptart weapons if you can set up in that 1000-1200 meter range and watch where they're jumping from.

Interesting. But yeah, I get your point about skill, but for me it's not so much me trying to make a griefing mech combo, it's more me wanting to be in control and customizing my stuff. On the original Rainbow Six I would spend HOURS planning out my own "battle plan" for my guys, I would NEVER use the default layout plan. I like to stand out, make my own thing, make my own avatar, make my own mech, (or at LEAST pick my weapon layout.) Default just seems so ........................ "arcade-y". No, I want to spend hours fine tweaking ratios of weapons against heatsinks. I'M A NERD DAMNIT! lol

You want to spend hours to end up with the same combinations of equipment that everyone will because its works the best? At least when people are forced to use preset variants you see a better variety of assests on the field. Personally I'd prefer if it never had a mechlab and maybe the devs just changed the variants from time to time to add flavor.

@ First question: That's highly unlikely.

@ Second question: It could be something as simple as your firewall blocking the game. Make sure you have permission for Crysis Wars and everything else. Also, it could be something like blocked ports, although that's really only been a problem for me when trying to host on various video games.

You have to login in with your GameSpyID to see servers. Make sure you follow these directions on getting the game serial entered and can see servers through the regular Crysis WARs.

http://wiki.mechlivi...to_Install_MWLL

Make sure you are running the game from the Launcher. MWLL.Launcher.exe
It may run some updates and do some patches for you to make sure the game is up to date.

Check on the forums as you will get more help over there as their are regular moderators waiting to help folks get going.

Sample Desura Thread on MWLL forums:
http://forum.mechliv...ic,15855.0.html

@Holmes: There are up to 4 to 6 variants per mech and more than enough for those wishing for a mixture. There are also more new mechs on the way and just getting used to playing the game will challenge you enough.

VTOL's are awesome, best is to stay just above the 'Mechs/Tanks dead centre and stay there, next you'll eventually see them come to an halt and write nasty stuff in chat :P
