Seeing this reminds me of an old station wagon a friend used to have that had the same wood paneling along both sides. We called it 'Puff the Tragic Wagon' which is rather... ominious... all things considered.
WAIT! OMG!
THIS MEANS WE'LL BE ABLE TO BUY FAKE WOODGRAIN PANELS FOR OUR 'MECHS!!!

BTW who said it would have to be fake.. ?
I'm thinking a nice Teak or Mahogany, with some Redwood inlay.. nothing would make my Awesome look more AWESOME..

This makes me want a Mechwarrior themed Oregon Trail mod...
"You have died of dysentery... the inside of your mech is now a mess."

Changing subject, do you think flamers do extra damage against mechs with wood paneling? I should think even more still if it's made with fake wood paneling Lostech from an old Star League museum featuring things found in daily life in the 1970s. My Firestarter sprays DDT! I want shag carpet on my command seat and fuzzy dice in my cockpit now.

One idea I want in it is something similiar to Startrek Online Doff System but maybe with a support crew. You know, a team responsible for maintaining your Mech collection, your base defenses when you have one if we have one and even the level of Intel we get.
