I would go with Atlas, later this game is going to offer clan tech. So, if it will be possible I will use this guy loaded with clan tech XD..
Daishi... o.O with this game mechanic it will be nearly useless with SOOOOOO big shoulder missile rack.

The Daishi is obviously superior, as are all Clan Mechs at the same weight. Even with IS Tech inside the Mech, it is still better. Clan Mechs are typically faster, even with the same engine, and have more of their total weight open for guns. This is simply because the frames are more advanced.

But regarding preference; I find the Atlas is a lot cooler looking. I don't like most Clan Mech designs. Inner Sphere is where it's at. I'm tempted to go through a classic MechCommander only use IS Tech, while selling all Clan Tech salvage. That basically turns Easy mode into Hard mode.

It's a fracking cardboard box with legs! Some clan mechs definitely looked better than many IS mechs (Vulture, Uller, Kit Fox to name a few) but the Daishi is powerful ugly if you ask me
