Would you like to see Death From Above (DFA) implemented in the game?

  1. Of course! I love the idea of jump jet kamikazes at enemy mechs! (73 votes [98.65%])

  2. No. If I shoot their weapons off, I don't want them to still be a threat... (1 votes [1.35%])

Would love to see DFA implemented. Would make other pilots think twice about closing within jump range of a damaged mech.

The use of jump jets to jump into the air and land on another enemy mech with the intention of seriously damaging them, and quite possibly, yourself in the process. I've always thought of it as a last resort tactic.

Imaginable.. i might add:
1. A damaged/crippled mech is harder to navigate. In the air - more harder.
2. Make it a manual flight. DO NOT make it an autopilot flight driven by some computer! It must not hit 100% the time! Otherwise it spoils gameplay. An enemy shot down is an enemy shot down. Rest in pieces.

And besides...SHOULD BE A BURDEN to prevent kamikaze debils falling from the skies in every minute! For example doing this WILL 100% surely prevent your clan from salvaging your mech at the end of the battle.

Oh, but the respawning method kills this idea.. so, here we go again. Grinder.

Traditionally if your legs were damaged severely enough you wouldnt land right and that would cause all sorts of secondary and tertiary damage effects. If the mechanic was done right, then yes, it would be a challenge to effectively perform the maneuver but not outrageously so dependent upon comparitive speed of the mechs.

If they allow mechs to fall down and get back up, sure.

Funny the Dozen or so times I tried to do DFA I only succeeded once and it still was not pretty!

I really hope there's some sort of collision damage.

I hated in MW4 when i'd charge a light mech in a Dire Wolf at full speed and barely scratch their paint. I want to completely bowl over some limping recon mech. :)

I agree. The ability of a 100 ton mech to utterly roflstomp a 20 ton recon mech would be great. Even though you'd probably still want to finish them off with weapons so you dont scratch your paint, it would be extremely funny from time to time?

I would think that a light mech wouldnt always destroy a bigger mech but if the wieght was enough, at least some kind of damage,
Would this be included in what they where talking about melee combat??

a 20 ton object hitting a 100 ton object at say 96 kph is going to do alot of damage to both objects... rofl

I agree with Harrow and the light mech will suffer even more if the100 tonner was able to brace for impact!

And if they don't give us DFA, we could always practice lining up a ramming run and ejecting right before impact triggering the reactor core to blow.

I've always enjoyed a bit of Jetpack vs Face, when MW4 rolled around I made a Catapault that was pretty much all about sprinting & jumping onto people with comic results...

The devs have stated "no melee, initially", but I wonder if that means no collision damage. I would hope they'd enable collision damage, even that hacked up game engine BIgWorld (used by World of Tanks) handles it.

If the game's going to have DFA, then it should also have some method of dealing with charging/ramming and melee. It makes little sense to only be able to inflict physical damage by using jump jets for a vertical (rather than horizontal) attack.
