Also known as "the War nobody but Sweden cares about and nobody but Russia and Sweden have even heard of" ;-)

More seriously, it's the 'Great Northern War' or simply the 'Northern War' not Nordic.

I think it should be "höja högt den vita flaggan!" I find this fitting for where you will be soon enough.

Ah, so it's kind of like what your civil war is to non-americans then?
:)

As for battlecries, there's so many to choose from.

Hakka pälle!
really only applies to the finns.
It's their signum, and a sign that the badasses have come to help out their allies (in sweden's case any way).

för kung och fosterland!
(for king and country)
fits rather badly in MWO's Rasalhaug lore.

Needs something universal, that everyone can understand.
after all anyone, no matter their creed are welcome to join the good fight for the republic.

Either a translated hakka pälle: "Cut them down!"

Or a "For the republic!"
but i guess some yanks might have issues with that.

failing all else, just a simple "BEEEEEEEER!"
should get the message across :(

"Låt oss strida ärofullt!
Låt oss vinna varje kamp på slagfältet!
Låt oss skicka våra fiender till Helvetets portar!"

Translation:

"Let us fight honorable!
Let us win every fight on the battlefield!
Let us send our enemies to the gates of ****!"

Something that convays a willingess to fight, that trancends the need for victory or death.
In the "keep and die with your sword in your hand and you will arrive in Valhalla" mindset.

Tought about the first verse of "Til Ungomen" or "To Youth" by Nordahl Grieg

"Kringsatt av Fiender,
gå inn i din tid!
Under en blodig storm -
vi deg til strid!"

"Faced by your enemies
On every hand
Battle is menacing,
Now make your stand"

I am not impressed with Rod Sinclairs translation and google makes a mess of it.

Aye, I don't care about that one either. I am not American. ;-)

Of course, I was merely teasing, lest anyone take offence, neither war was a joking matter.

Unless you happen to be from one of the southern states, most Americans don't care about the "Civil War" either. :-)

Our war cry? "We fight for freedom! Well...at least..until some phantom ursine clan show up and we totally just turn over because the big guys with "Fursonas" told us to. Yea!"

Okay, making a call to the linguists of the FRR. We need something suitably Viking, suitably surreal, and suitably brutal to universally shout when charging into battle.

Suggestions?

I thought it was just "SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE VIKINGS!" with every mech alpha-ing a dozen times or so, including ballistics, before joining the fray.

Isn't "Frihet" Freedom in Swedish?

If so, we should just use FRIHETTTT. =D
