Speaking of sigs... seems like the notion of "only the colonel has his name in his sig" doesn't really jive with the way pilots are portrayed, today and in the Btech future. Names, ranks, callsigns and kill marks along the edge of the canopy are pretty much standard fare, seems odd to disallow that in sigs.
I'll go with the flow, I don't particularly care if my name is in my sig or not, but if this is a "flavor" item it seems out of place in the real and game universe.

GREAT web site, by the way. I'm going to head over there and post an intro when I get a chance, hopefully yet today.

I don't forbid the placement of names in sigs or anything, the others just took it on themselves to go this route. If you want your name in your sig, go for it....not my place to dictate what you can and can't have on your profile. I'd encourage it.

When the sig first became official, the enlisted informally voted to keep rank and names restricted to officers only. We, as a unit, respect our officers and, since we can't actually salute, this seems to be a fair way to give a little extra honor and respect to them.

Harmony Gold is a joke.....that company needs to get off its high horse. No single battletech fan that i know is a fan of any other mecha-genre games, especially not their horrible anime Macross crap. There are only a few unseen designs, like the wasp, Marauder and rifleman, which in my opinion might be considered "copied" several other mechs are not even close.

I wouldn't say no one is a fan of Macross, but Harmony does need to stop acting like it's tough and slapping lawsuits all over the place. They don't even own the rights to the original designs, only the distribution of the Robotech/Macross movies/tv stuff over here....and the company that gave them said rights are having problems with the ACTUAL owners..so it's one big fluster clock of retarded legal issues.

Don't think Fasa or anyone got a message from the actual owners, just HG with a bug up their behinds.
