All mechs except the Valkyrie are unseen so it will be none of them.

17 unseen
18 unseen
19 unseen
20 unseen
sorry none availible

The only problem with the unseen is the original artwork is "owned" by Harmony Gold, the names are usable, the configurations are usable, the only thing needed to use them is new artwork that is different enough from the original to not spark a lawsuit. Considering Alex is already re-doing all the artwork for every 'Mech they're releasing it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for him to re-do the un-seen and for us to get to see them again.

My 2 Cents? I think IF they do mech 16(still tantalizingly absent.) It will like others have said, be a Balistics platform of the assault class....that said at that weight class no mech is truly a set type. My money is on the Victor, or the Mauler. Though I am betting like some other mechs with super advanced construction mats (Endo steel, Ferro Fiberous armor, XL engines, Double heat sinks.) it will be the basic, non-upgrade version, which pretty much leaves the Mauler out. I am leaning towards the:
VTR-9B Victor.
80 Tons
64 KPH max speed
11.5 Tons of armor
15 Heatsinks
4 Jump Jets(Thats right a jumping assault)
1 AC 20 (3 tons ammo)
1 SRM 4 (2 tons ammo)
2 Medium Lasers

Not super heavy armed, but plenty of options and the fastest, most manuverable stock assault. Just my opinion. I would love to see a Mauler or even a Zeus but I am doubting they will lead with either, as one is to advanced compared to the mechs we have right now, and the other is Really Faction specific. Even with the FedCom alliance.

Forgot to post about Battle Mech 17, lol. Betting a light, either the Javelin(missile) The Panther(direct firesupport) or the Wolfhound(Scout/Hunter/Raider)

one thing i dont understand if there was such a copyright issue with the design of the mechs for soo long why is harmony gold just now saying so also in another note most robotech units was airplanes that turned to robots i fail to see how they look just like a mech i know what i say as i seen all the robotech/macross series and i seen all mech designs for the bt universe and none of them in my opinion looked anything close to eachother im surprised gundum creatortors arnt jumping on the band wagon with that mech looks like a gundum i think its all about a old company wanting more money or something

No offense, but I think there's a lot of things you don't understand. Just don't think about it.

Considering how amazing his redesigns have been I don't think we have to worry about them turning out like the ugly-*** Project Phoenix designs.

I hope the unseen make it in. Unseen 55 ton mediums are the best!

But for the last Assault, i'm betting a Victor, Banshee, or Zeus.

16. Highlander
17. Dervish

We need more jump in the game. If in doubt, watch the River City video. A little bit of jump power can ease your movement across the map. Highlander and Dervish will open up jumping to assaults and mediums.

Relevant to the above, I believe, would be one particular statement from Mr. Iglesias himself (from the first Dev Interview):

Quote

MWO: Are there any Mechs that you are scared of rebooting?

AI: Probably the Timberwolf, I know that if I mess that one up, I will never hear the end of it, and will probably have to try to outrun a few pitchfork wielding mobs.

Also, his response to the MWO Community's reaction to the (rather radical) redesign of the Centurion:

I understand the critiques but keep in mind guys

I don't just rub my hands together and think of how i can tear apart some of your childhoods

i first put some classical music on, pour myself some blood into a gold encrusted goblet, and laugh upon a throne of bones befor...i ...i mean i don't do that.

No, actually there are various reasons why the design looks the way it does.
Primary of which is that a lot of BT mech designs fall into the "humanoid with a cannon for an arm" category. And were i to stick too closely to the canon appearance, we could easily end up with a lot of mechs that would be hard to visually distinguish from one another at a distance. (The classic centurion head crest ...fin... sensor thingy, not exactly being something that would all that visible at longer ranges.) So to guard against the possibility, i had to make the mech as visually distinct as possible and push the proportions this way and that as well as add a few things here and there.

Given how popular and loved the Unseen are, how polarizing the Reseen are, and how some have reacted to major departures from the traditional designs of the past, I would not be surprised if Mr. Iglesias would be apprehensive with regard to rebooting the Unseen for many of the same reasons (among them, reactions similar to that described by Lightdragon) as the interview indicated that he would be apprehensive about doing so with the Timber Wolf.

Your thoughts?

I wish Battlemech 16 would be one of two things:

1) The Highlander: It's 95 tons with jump jets! Implement DFA and allow me to perform a Highlander burial with a smile on my face!
2) The Cyclops... because cyclops.

The Zeus and Victor would be OK in my book.

As for Battlemech 16: Dervish. A nice 55 ton mech with Jump Jets. That plus a lot of potential for being a potential killer SRM boat.

Valkryie and the MarauderII aren't considered Unseen for whatever reasons.

I would like to see the Highlander as well for Mech 16.

For mech 17 I'd like to see the Panther.

It would be cool if a reseen like the thunderbolt, but I kinda doubt it.

It's because of extremist Battletech fans like you that PGI will probably never add the reseen into the game. They can't add the unseen (or would face a law suit) and they can't add the reseen (or people like you will scream "what? That's not a Warhammer!").

Mech #16 will be an assault, we all know (Victor, Cyclops, Zeus or Banshee).

About the mech #17, it will probably be a clan*. That must be the reason they stopped the announcements - these clan mechs will appear only next year.

*Let's remember there are 16 3050 clan mechs. It would be elegant to have 16 IS and 16 clan mechs until 3055.

@the unseen: i´d be very very (happily) surprised if the unseen, at least the most favoured ones, wouldn´t be something like premium chassis... if you honistly think about it, the demand for them is HUGE, so they are pure gold...

like i said, i´d be HAPPILY surprised if i´m wrong on that^^

Assault mechs were always supposed to be rare on the battlefields of the IS. However I would love to see a Banshee 3S in the game or a the orginal 5 Small laser armed Charger ;) that thing was always good for a laugh.
