And it's Atlases, not Atlai just the same as it's buses and not bui. Don't be that ******.

****** is a person who is stupid, obtuse, or ineffective. It begins with r and ends with d.

The correct term is a Cohort of Centuri. Or a Fithp of Centauri.
Or a Suddenly of Atlai.

I love those type of pilots though... It makes it so much easier for me to rain 50 missiles every 4.5 seconds onto them... U demand nerf. Y u no like me?

My issue is in PuG's I dont know where to take my Atlas... my *koff* team scatter to the 4 winds (some to cap, some to hide some are trying to mimic trees near the base, others think they are decorations), and I end up trying to take out 3 assualts with back up all on my own :'(

I love it when my team works, like a few matches where me and another Atlas was able to take turns in absorbing damage without even communicating... he would back out the fight I would walk in, then when I started to overheat he would walk back in and I would walk out... took out 4 assualts (not at the same time of course) at the tunnel exit on forest.

More often than not it ends up with me standing alone next to the AFK and DC'd , on the base trying to ramp up my opponents repair bill, lol in one epic death my Atlas remained standing ... propped up against the dropship where it was cored, defiant till the end.

To Atlas pilots, stay with the group, be part of the group and let the lights run around and spot stuff... if you prefer to run around on your own... take a Light instead.

I would like to point out that spiffy new Atlas has a variety of weapons. So while you are trudging forward to the fracas, perhaps use the LRM racks? And then when you get up close switch to your Autocannon, medium lasers and SRMs? Not only will you be effective in the fight longer, you will make better use of your heat. Number of times I've seen Atlas pilots NOT engaging ranged targets (it's really NOT hard) or from my ghost chair firing LRMs at point blank (so much wasted heat and so useless) as part of an alpha strike...

And it's be nice if you mounted a AMS. Nice for you, nice for your team. And if you have an energy slot spare, how about .5 ton for a TAG laser? Just group that laser with everything.

Nothing worse than hanging with an Atlas (or two), to find out he has no idea what he is doing, haha.

Sorry, worse is when they walk off to a hiding spot and don't play. At least Leroys will get some fire attention and might inflict damage.

Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeroooooooooooooooooooooy knows no fear, and is excellent for putting between yourself and the enemy when you're waiting for your guns to recycle. His battlefrenze lets him completely ignore any shots you accidentally score on his back armor, too.

Ah. Someone read "Footfall."

I've always considered a lance of Atlas' a "scourge." Because, if driven well, they kill EVERYthing.

Steiner is so masculine, it counts 8 as 12.

oh crap i just came back now and read that
ummm i was guilty of that before... but i think it was justified. i was 2 legs a Center Torso and a Head at the time :(

Oh, I agree in that case. You have to do what you have to do.

I'm talking about the 1 Atlas pilot that heads directly for the base and leaves his team mates behind right off the start of the match. An Atlas can turn the tide of battle. For him to run off, it is irresponsible in many cases.

I just never see it work. Two things always seem to happen. Either the enemy defeats us, and runs to our base and caps before the lone Atlas can, or two, they double back and kill our lone Atlas in their base. Maybe we would loose anyway, but man that Atlas would have done more good in the battle than skirting it and leaving us a man down (especially an assault).

Just a pet peeve of mine.

the other case i "might" hit their base tho is if our guys are really outmatched in a stand up fight and if i'm close to the base i'll trigger the cap alarm for them to pull a few of them off the main group towards me. sometimes it works and sometimes it super fails. i held onto a cap against 2 catapults, a centurion and a hunchback... i killed 3 of them then the guasscat cored me. :(
