Where to begin? I can speak some German. I like blondes. Blue is my favorite color. And my first Battletech game was Crescent Hawk's Revenge. Which pretty much makes my Lyran for Life.

I started with Crescent Hawk's Inception and I originally liked Steiner until the whole Katherine Steiner debacle. No I won't call her the other name and she doesn't deserve the Davion on the end.

Scandinavian roots. Also all the other factions besides Davion have asian roots. And asian culture bothers me.

I just want House Steiner's money. They can buy my mercenary loyalty.

I joined Haus Steiner cause New Hessen is under control of the Federated Commonwealth, though part of the Davion dominated region i'd rather join Steiner cause the pay is better.

Well, I started playing Battletech with Mechwarrior 2, so I've been a pretty die-hard clanner since. However, since the time period in which the game is set is pre-clan invasion I decided to go with my Inner Sphere favorite. And lets face it:

Davion is too goody-goody
Liao and Marik are jokes
And I don't feel like committing seppuku so Kurita's out

Plus, Steiner has the most money, heavy mechs, and just generally seems like the best place to live.

We've got the money, we've got the women, and we've got the power.

Plus the fact that we take care of our own but aren't warmongers and proselytizers is nice.

Plus you have to take into consideration that they have a German background and well that means the best equipment.

I hope I am not the only one who read this and thought, whoa the ShamWow guy plays MechWarrior!

Because house Steiner stole the blue prints to the first working Battle Mech and because they made the Zues. -My favorite mech.

Only reason a man has to join Steiner is because he's a noob.

Only mechs you use are the biggest and the ones with most "DAKKA, DAKKA,..."

We got "Dakka Dakka?" sign me up :D

They have the Scots which means they have the Scotch. They have the Germans so they have the best meat and beer. They have the finance. No wonder they are rarely the agressors, they already have everything worth fighting for

I just realized that the Steiner faction symbol closely resembles a BROFIST... this may tip the scales and force me to roll Steiner...

... because canon merc units (Kell Hounds, Grey Death Legion) are off limits for players.

So I joined the house that pays them and treats them well.

Plus I'm german and BT is one rare game where things with german roots are positively connotated.
And my Character name is sooo Steiner and I use it in every game since LotRo preorder.

Cheers, Siegwald

Yay, didn't expect someone else has started his battletech career with the Crescent Hawk games... and yes, this is my "Steiner reason" as well, obviously :)
