Hello all, another newbie, haven't played a Mech game since Mechwarrior 2 on Playstation... looking forward to getting involved on here... I know this isn't important to some, but I was wondering if MWO tracked player stats to see how many battles and kills/assists/deaths you had?

Hello all. New player here. Never really played Mechwarrior before but I'm looking forward to trying it out. I'm a robot nut so it's strange now that I think about it that I haven't played before. Played a lot of Armored Core on the PS2, I think that I've picked up most of those. Anyway, glad to be here, I'm going to look around a bit, read some guides, and probably Friday or Saturday night I'll actually be in-game.

Cheers.

Yes, not sure if stat tracking is working right now but it will be implemented in the full release.

Welcome, just remember mechs move much slower than you may be used to in other games so be cautious when exposing from cover.

Good luck both of you!

Yep, you are correct. The link: http://mwomercs.com/profile/stats

The devs said that we well eventually be able to track a wider range of stats, but don't know when they will implement that.

Hi guys, New pilot here as well. I'm a long term fan of mechwarrior game series. Oh the feelings and atmosphere that mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries had. Still brings tears to my eye, even if i played it as a kid. I loved MW4 with mercs as well, but the soundtarck of mw2: mercs is simply put awesome. I admit, i sometimes put it playin in the background when i play mwo. Makes it sooo much more awesome.

I just got enough money to buy my first own commando, and boy did i have fun with it last night. I took down an atlas and a jenner with it, and man, that felt AWESOME! (of course they were pretty much well done after receiving a few set's of lrm's from my teammates, but still, the last shot counts as a kill.)

I just took some time to introduce myself, and i wish you guys good luck. We're gonna need it.

I tried the game again.

The instruction video helped a bit. But the game's targeting sucks.
The graphics are nice. I might try this game again when you will permit 3rd person view
Oh the game is also a pile on the noob fest. but if that make you feel better about yourself. Go ahead drive away the casual gamer and their $$

I do not expect this game to last more then a year.

If memory serves me right, there will be no 3rd person view in the foreseeable future.

And agree that the game at the moment is quite hash on the new players... hopefully things will get better.

When does the game officially release? I dont want to spend too much time or money upgrading a mech that wont be available when the game offically goes live. Will these mechs in teh beta transfer to the live game?

Startdust was a ******* phenomenal movie.

Also, download Teamspeak and drop by the education centre.

Hehe, well spotted. The name is also a homage to the "Black Thorns" mercenary unit from the James D. Long novels. While not the best Battletech novels, I really enjoyed the story about them (so many years now that I read those books).

Thanks on the tips as well. Will sure inform myself a bit more before getting into action.

This is open beta, PGI has stated from now on all assets and accounts are considered "live", while there may and will be drastic changes to gameplay, UI, etc, no accounts or assets will be wiped. You buy an Atlas today you keep that Atlas forever.
