FIRST!
YES!!!! I can go on my pleasure cruise
The Dawn Treader Class of converted cargo air ships was designed for the tourist trade in the Draconis Combine. The vehicles originated on the Combine world of Athenry, where they are used to travel the planet, taking passengers to various scenic locations. Think Space Hindenburg.
These ships owe their existence to Athenry's depleted resources, which were tapped out by dawn of the 31st Century; in fact the original design of this vessel was used specifically to move those resources. In 3040s, the local government, struggling to come up with new resources, decided to convert older cargo air ships into the new tourist role, re-christining them as the Dawn Treader Class. Viola, the space snobbery industry was born!
By late 3050, Athenry became a tourist destination for those who enjoy the view from the skies. The cruises by 3067 only cost a family of four 750 k-bills a tour in comparison more expensive tours else where.
The only known variant is the Provost Class Cargo Airship is actually the predecessor to the Dawn Treader. The Provost was utilized before 31st century as an ore carrier. These ships featured both ICE & Fuel Cell engines which were consider too costly to be retained for its new life as Passenger Ship. The ship could carry almost 40 tons of cargo when used in this configuration.

Interestingly if you take a broader look at Science Fiction, the topic of airships gradually substituting the contemporary airplanes isn't that uncommon a theme. Especially when emissions, fuel efficiency and/or scarce resources are an issue. Maybe not at the time of BT's inception, but with a modernized "revamp" you would expect to see a lot of airships on a lot of planets (mostly for civilian uses though). Also could make a nice element of background graphics in game.

So this is something like Led Zepelin in Battletech? Without the "boom!" part, ofc.

Modern airships use Helium which is inert so no worries about sparks and exploding. Besides the Hindenburg had a smoking lounge in which people could smoke cigars, cigarettes and pipes. A smoking lounge that operated with complete safety during the Hindenburg's one year of trans-Atlantic passenger airline service.
